Flat without sky dish

Hello
I have sky+hd package and soon i will move in a flat without sky dish. What i would like to know is will sky provide an engineer to install the dish in my new flat or do i have to find an independent engineer by myself.

Cheers.

Generally sky would provide an engineer, however some circumstances could prevent this and an independant may have to be hired to instal dish. They look at things like the type of access the engineer would need, the height of the flat, roof types, signal strength being blocked etc. They didnt charge me previously for the assessment when we moved into a 4th floor flat.

  • They will not touch it if the block of flats has a communal sytem - then you would have to go through the installers appointed by the management/landlords and even if there is no communal system you would need their written approval for installation of the dish or the installer should not touch anything and walk away from the job.
  • I was in the similar situation. So I decided to install teh sky dish to the balcony railing and its working like a charm! I dont have LL/management companys approval, but if someone objects, its just a matter of removing few screws and there is no damage to the property.
  • I had some fun and games trying to get Sky sorted out in my flat and ended up having the landlord fit a communal dish.

Sky do offer to help install into flats, but my problem was that only myself and my neighbour wanted Sky - not enough numbers to make Sky interested in helping us sadly.
