I just got multi room booked yesterday - Sky hd + 5 entertainment packs in the livingroom, sky plus in one bedroom, sky in another bedroom, broadband & phone (free anytime landline calls & 2 international numbers), free installation. Monthly price £62.00 including Vat . I thought it was pretty goodGrocery Challenge - Jan £4.42/£200.00
Up my income - £124.00/ £11,000.0 -
Don't want phone and broadband with Sky just Tv. The broadband with Sky in our area is expensive as our exchange hasn't been upgraded.
Are there any special offers out there?
Or should I just ring them and tell them I wish to leave and see if they offer any incentives to stay?0 -

If you phone up and threaten to cancel then they will give you a % discount off your bill.
I phoned up last night to say I wanted to cancel as I had a letter saying my subscription would increase by £3 a month and I was offered 50% off my package until Feb 2011.
I already had a free HD pack on, as I was offered free HD for 6 months when I phoned to take the sports package off.
My package was:
HD+Sports + ent packs = £51 a month
Then
Sports+ent packs + free HD = £41 a month
Now, Sports+ent packs+free HD = £20.50 a month.
My free HD runs out in November, but he advised me to phone up then and see if there are any other loyalty offers on at the moment. I would get rid of the HD pack if it was just me, as to be honest I forget we had HD channels most of the time and watch the normal channels, but OH is fanatical about it.
Worth a shot, I didn't think i'd save £20 a month just through ringing to cancel!0 -
Thanks for that, seems as though you got a good deal..
Will ask hubby to ring when he get's in from work, the account is in his name so they may not even speak to me.0 -
I phoned earlier and said I was thinking of leaving. Without hesitation they offered me a free HD box with free engineer installation (without the £10 monthly charge if I didn't want HD) and 6 months full package for half price.:)0

Would someone mind explaining why a free HD box would be any good for me as I don't really know what it does. Also
what does 'without the monthly charge if I don't want HD' mean?
Sorry to be so uninformed!
I would like to negotiate with Sky a reduction in my bill as I need to save a few pennies but don't want to cancel. I have an old style large TV not flat screen so don't know what HD would do for me. Many thanks.0 -

It wouldn't be any use to you at all as you don't have an HD Ready TV, so you can't view any HD services. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I phoned up yesterday trying to see what they could offer me (before I read this thread).
They said I could have a free sky+ HD box, free installation. but it would cost me £5 extra per month for 6 months then £10 extra per month after that. We are currently paying £40 per month (incl movies) which seems like a lot!
They are going to phone back on Monday to see if we want to go ahead with it, do you reckon I could get something better from them?0 -
So Sky's policy is to keep customers sweet for 6 months, no long term deals around?0
