I actually think it is someone who likes the idea of being an ebay seller but actually isn't.
We've all mis interpreted rules, or had changes made by ebay that we haven't noticed, but to be so consistently wrong suggests they don't actually use ebay at all.

OK - here endeth the argument. From the horses mouth ie PAYPAL and directly from the PAYPAL Premier account details. There are more fees to accept if someone is paying with a credit in addition to listing and final value fees. Either the seller or buyer MUST pay them. And for the record Cyberblob dearie I am far from clueless - I think my Honours degree might just prove that. And you are wrong Soolin about my knowledge of ebay. I am most certainly am an ebay seller and about to go and set up some free listings. Goodbye children.....What are the fees for receiving money?
Question : Answer :
- Receiving a personal payment (e.g. a gift from family) is free if the sender uses their PayPal balance or their bank as a funding source. If they use a credit or debit card there will be a small fee. The sender can decide to pay this or pass it on to you.
- If you are receiving a business payment (e.g. when selling items on eBay) then you will be charged a fee. The basic rate for receiving payments is 3.4% + 20p.

So basically you are saying we are correct?
Thank you for coming back to correct your earlier errors.

So we are right.:T. So you have an honours degree wow. If we're boasting my PHD trumps your degree. And yes you have shown a severe lack of ebay/Paypal procedures rules which i'm afraid show you are a little clueless in that respect. At least though you have admitted you were wrong. :rotfl:I look forward to some more nuggets of misinformation from you. When you can show us your media studies knowledge.0 -
Am coming to this thread a little late for all the fun...but I think that Tightwadman has reposted on this thread as I think HE BELIEVES that his post proves him right??? But the additional fee for funding from a debit/credit is only applicable if it was a personal payment in the first place - so how does that come into it if you are an ebay seller??...God I am confused!!

It's really the same point I made (badly) the other day. I can actually enjoy a robust discussion where I hold opposing views with someone, but it only works if i can see they have a valid point to make and are articulate enough to be able to make it.
Being so terribly and embarrasingly wrong means that I can't actually have a discussion, so the enjoyment has gone.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I know what you mean.....differing opinions is fine. Even differing interpretations of a 'less than clear' rule is something that can be deabated. However just spouting rubbish, and trying to back it up by posting things that don't even support you, just makes you look foolish....:rotfl:0 -

Nothing like a good Flounce.:D0 -
Agreed. People are so desperate sometimes to have an opinion, or validate their own practices, that they don't realise their opinion counts for nothing if their buyers or the law say or says otherwise.Mrs_justjohn wrote: »I know what you mean.....differing opinions is fine. I love it when people say "Don't agree, don't bid". Because it makes me feel less guilty about not bidding on their items..."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
