Tesco's have Pilgrim's choice BOGOF at the moment, and if you get the Extra Mature it is 400g per pack (the other one is 370g), normally £3.99 per pack (does anyone actually PAY that???)

I saw that on their site and was wondering if it really does taste extra mature?
  • Compared to the other cheeses stocked in supermarkets, yes it does.

Compared to cheeses that you get elsewhere with a bit of bite to them, then it is probably just about a mature flavour.

But then I am used to strong cheeses and find the normal mild cheese tasteless.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

THing is with cheese is everyone has different taste buds. When I have bought the mature CC cheese on bogof deal I found it quite a nice cheese, but not that strong tasting.I think I will buy it as it is on bogof and then make up my mind if it is extra mature.Thank you for your replies. :)

I bought a 300g pack of Farm Foods own brand extra mature cheddar at £2/pack and found it was as good as the more expensive Seriously Strong cheddar I have become addicted to. Farm Foods also do a mature cheddar in the same size/price for people with delicate taste buds.

  • Just for info, Aldi do a wonderful selection of cheeses. The choice is amazing!
