Stick with T-Mobile or go to orange?

Hi there folks,
I need some advice on tariffs and wondered whether the estute members of this forum could provide me with some insight.
My dilemma....
I am currently with T-mobile on their 'old' bronze tariff which i have held for 10 years. It entitles me to free evening and weekend calls to landlines and free voicemail. The line rental is £17.50 a month.
I spend on average of £100 eah month on my bill.
I looked around yesterday at other tariffs as i simply cannot afford to constantly pay £100 on bills as my situation has changed. I found an offer by orange for a tariff called 'racoon 35' on which i would recieve 550 cross network minutes a month and 200 texts. Plus free calls to landline numbers all the time and free voicemail for £35.
I have researched online and found the orange tariff with cash bak offers which mean that i would pay £5.8 per month line rental for 18 months. Although i am not sure how kosher these cash back offers are as i have no experience.
I then called T-mobile and asked them what they could do to retain my custom. I was told i could have the flex 35 tariff on a 18 month contract for £18.5 a month as long as i did not upgrade my current handset. This tariff entitles me to a flexed service of free calls and texts depending on usage.
I personally do not think i am getting any great added value from this offer.
Which should i go for?? Any advice appreiated

It would be easier to tell which tariff was best for you if you said what you are actually spending your £100 a month on.
Also note that the unlimited landline calls on racoon 35 is only if you go direct with orange, if you buy through a dealer (and get a cashback deal) then you wont get this.0 -
Well i spend 5 hours and 11 mins on calls and 111 texts on my last bill, i don't know if that helps.0

The Flext 35 offers up to £180 of services (about 800 xnet mins + 200 texts).
You say you are currently paying £17.50 line rental + £100 call charges.
So you will be paying £18 instead of £117.50. Sounds like £99.50 worth of added value to me!
New customers can get the same tarrif for £30 with a new phone so I'm sure they can do you a better deal.
I have had no problems with Tmobile during the time I have been with them but I know several pople who have experienced difficulties with Orange.0 -
5 hours is only 300 minutes. If that's typical then you wouldn't need the Flext 35 - Flext 30 would do.
Or you might look at http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/paymonthlySimOnly.do if you don't need a new phone.
I'm seriously considering it.0 -
I'm not sure about the financial side of things but I've just moved from orange as i found their reception/coverage (not sure what its called) was naff.No links in signatures by site rules - Forum Team 20

I just don't like the fact that i would have to pay for my voice mail calls and i don't feel i am being rewarded for my loyalty for 10 years.
I would have liked them to give me a new phone and the same discount on the line rental. Plus with orange i would get free braod band for the home which would save me £90 a quarter.
Has anyone got any good experiences with orange?0 -

Maybe you would like a free luxury apartment as well with your new contract.:rotfl:0 -
Hi there Stiffnuts,
I don't feel i am asking for much as i am a loyal customer who has remained with the same provider for the last ten years, in a day and age where most people switch providers every year and with a saturated mobile industry.
I would like them to show some appreciation for my custom, rather then providing me with a basic tariff with a standard discount which most individuals who have had there contract for more then 12 months would qualify for.0 -
I've just checked the link website and found that the deal t mobile were providing me with to retain my custom is actually offered to new customers for the same price (£17.50 for 12 months), but with a new hand set thrown in. Thus, it means i'm not really recieving a good deal from them at all for my loyalty.0
