Orange Call Charges - BT 'b' rate and data charges - help!

Hi All,

I've just got my latest Orange bill and it's £79.99. I'm on a Dolphin 25 Websave contract and have been for about 6 months now.

Every month I get charged about £6.50 for data charges yet I infrequently use the internet part of my phone. On calling them today they say I'm accessing it DAILY at the same time every day but they can't tell me why. Any ideas? I've got a Sony Ericsson w995 and I think it might automatically be connecting.

The other alarming feature of my bill this month was that for the first time in ages I went outside of my plan minutes and ended up paying about £5.00 for a phone call to my mum and dad and other land lines also at ridiculous charges! The reference on the bill is BT 'b' rate.

Can anyone] help with this - can I get them to refund - have call charges gone up and they didn't tell me????

Hoping someone knows something and grateful for any tips. Phonecall with Orange for over 30 minutes with no resolution and just waiting for a phone call back which I have suspicion won't happen.

Cheers

Also the £5.00 call was for 30 minutes to a land line.....

Sorry - I came on here to ask what on earth BT "b" rate was as well! I have a contract whereby I only pay for calls because I've had the contract for 13 years. Surely Orange should have written to us to explain what BT "b" rate is I've been on the website but can find nothing! If I find anything out I'll come back.
  • BT "b" rate on Orange is actually an error in their billing system, it was supposed to be a national call, and depending on what format your are viewing your call data, this will probabaly have been |call| last month.
This *should* be fixed for next month.

As for the increased costs, that is not something i know about, i would certainly contact Orange about that.

the calls to "BT "b" rate" that we had were around the 3p/min mark.

hope this helps in some way..
