Which credit hire company is it?0

The credit hire company is Avis and we got it through AI claimsNeed a new start..wheres good to live in the UK?!0
-
can't you just buy a petrol can if just round the corner it will only be a few trips in your own car0
-
If the agreement is void he's been driving it uninsured all along - you could be opening a can of worms there.0
-
it would take loads of cans of petrol!
Yeh we just realised he may have been driving it uninsured, but surely if the guy taht delivered the car didnt show him the bits to sign and everything its their fault?
It says on the forms "i have had credit hire explained to me"...and the fact no one has ever sid credit hire to us...
He has to wait 24hours for a manager to ring back but they said they may waiver the fill up costs due to the circumstances. We are going to ring our insurance company if they get funny and explain that we never signed anything.
But doesnt it mean that if we didnt sign anythign if they try claim costs from us they would legally not be able to?Need a new start..wheres good to live in the UK?!0 -

Fault doesn't come into it. If it's uninsured it's the driver who gets done - possibly the company as well for allowing it.
As to not signing, there's an argument (not sure how good it is) that you accepted the contract anyway by using the car.0 -
well im not sure the document insurance bit was what made usa insured/uninsured i dunno.
We havnt mentioned the not signing, we were just wondering if they didnt manage to claim the hire costs from the 3rd party and tried to go after us if we'd be covered by not having signed it. we'll cross that when we come to it i guess.
Had the settlement letter and cheque for our car today. Says..now you are reciept of this letter please ring us immediately to arrange collection of the hire car.
so all that yesterday was ***. we didnt have to ring them if we got a new car, it WAS when we got the settlement cheque! So that should hopefully enable my bf to get the fill up charge wavered when he speaks to the manager not only cos the guy was rude but he was also wrong!

If they become difficult put in a written complaint sending it to them by recorded delivery mentioning what it said on your letter.
They are regulated by the Ministery of Justice in regards to claims and the FSA in regards to insurance, if you need to take your complaint further. (I would do this whether they decide to keep your money or not.)I'm not cynical I'm realistic
