Can second holiday-spain.biz. I have entered USA several times and hired cars with sp30 on license and no comment made. The visa waiver rules are on the US Embassy site link here http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/niv/vwp.html .
I have heard of some people having problems on entry these were mainly due to unpaid fines incurred on previous US visits and overstaying previous visa waiver entry (90 day visit maximum). You need to be staying less than 90 days and have a return ticket. On entry you will be asked where you are staying, if you are travelling around don't worry just put in your first hotel or address. I have also heard of people being refused entry because US authorities have no record of them leaving USA on a previous visit. (clerical errors) Part of the visa waiver form is attatched to your passport and collected by your airline on departure.
Hope this helps have agreat trip.

    Hello,

Going to USA in July for a month, didnt realise any of this VISA stuff.

Basically I have 6 points on my licence all in one go for speeding still is an SP30.

When you do a certain percentage above the limit it goes to court, I was not arrested and pleaded guilty by post (didnt have to attend court)

Does anyone think I will need a VISA? as its not just a simple speeding fine?

    Many thanks for any help!!

You don't need a visa for traffic offences.

    thanks for the reply,

the thing is i did receive a court summons for the speeding, i spoke to the embassy people and they dont have a clue (seems like they are just reading from the website!)

they said if it was a fixed penalty im ok, but if it was a "conviction" i would need a VISA, surely all (including fixed penaltys are convictions)

I then spoke to the police and they said that it is not a criminal conviction. I really dont know where i stand!

surely theres a lot more important things for them to be dealing with! The thing is even if i did need a visa i wouldnt have enought time before i go to got the embassy etc!

Maybe you should change your driving style: or your holiday destination!

I understand that Canada is very pleasant at the moment.

and great news all when your done worrying about getting in you can start worrying about your next vist when you return home.

I.E do they know you have left the first time around.???? or did your little I-94 departure form get left in your passport or lost by the work experiance airline staff at boarding ect. like ours from our last trip.

    it gets even better

if you do still have it in your passport you have send it to Kentucky with proof you left, and guess what it takes upto 4 months to process , and you cannot check they have recorded your departure even then because they don,t write you back.

looking forward to being pulled aside for secondary interview at Philly in sept here .. have banks staments and credit card statments at the ready.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

You don't need a visa for USA unless you have a criminal record. Speeding does not count.

You are supposed to need a visa if you've ever been ARRESTED - even if no charge or conviction resulted
