Pixmania IT Issue Dec 2009

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me.

I bought a TV from pixmania in December 2009, a few days later the TV arrived. In Febuary i get a call from Pixamania asking for payment. I presumed i had paid and agreed to fax the proof.

When i checked my bank statement i hadn't paid.

After a few days i forgotten about it.

This week (August) a get a call from a french debt agency asking for the payment from pixmania. They told me Pixmania had some IT issues in Dec and the TV had been sent out without taking payment.

They have now added charges and convert the sum to Euros. Do anyone have any advice?

Yes, you need to pay what you owe, minus any fees or exchange rate issues.

Shows historic exchange rates for you to work out what you owed if in Euros on that date, probably best to see what was the lowest figure and offer that.
  • We are in the same position.

Can anyone let us know how we stand if we pay the debt collection company rather than pixmania? Does it affect our warranty or credit card protection, etc?

If we refuse to pay the late payment charges, etc, will they pursue legal action or let it drop if we just pay the original amount?

So you bought a tv which is presumably quite expensive and didn't noticed the money hadn't come out of your account? Then when they brought it to your attention you managed to forget about it? Now you're surprised that they are chasing you for the money?
