Yeah Thorpe Park is geared toward an older crowd. Chessington would be a better choice for younger kids - has lots of rides for young kids and a zoo. Next time I would suggest Chessington and to take a friend/relative with you to help look after the children.

Thorpe Park this time of year is a nightmare - I love Thorpe Park though, prefer the rollercoasters, but usually go at the quieter times if I can.

    Back by no demand whatsoever.
  • I'm sorry, but if you went there last year, surely you realised then that TP is NOT the place to take small children. I know they've moved one ride from the little 'uns area recently, and I guess that's the one you've mentioned. However, the website may well state it's a great family day out, but it also clearly states the ride restrictions, and having been there yourself last year you would have surely seen that there was "hardly anything" for them to do.

I'm sorry your son got hurt though. Was he trying to climb out of/off the ride? Thorpe park customer services are usually pretty good- I'm sure they'll get back to you. I am surprised at the staff though, they usually have an excellent reputation.

They will probably offer you free or reduced tickets for another visit, which of course will be useless as clearly you wouldn't go back again.

Sounds like, the staff etc, couldn't have been more unhelpful. TBH nor could the other customers though either.

In general theme parks are a waste of money, if you go when the kids are off school. Queues of more than an hour on the best rides and some of the lesser rides, over priced food and drink and by the time you've queued, it's cost you £5 + a ride.

I always go when the kids are in school and it's the off season. That way you do get to get on everything within 30 mins, most rides less than 15 mins and it ends up costing more like £2 a ride. Can't do anything about the food and drink prices, unless you take your own though.

Haven't been to Thorpe Park in years myself, but was rubbish last time I went, but then they have added at least 6 or 7 rides since I've been.

Blackpool is my favourite park I would say, Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Chessington, can't match it IMO.
