Just had possiable my worst theme park experiance ever.....
Me and kids no. 1, 2 & 3 went to theme park today - a treat i thought with my tesco vouchers.
There was Hardley anything for the kids to do despite website saying a great family day out and showing all the rides oldest was to short to go on most things without an adult and no 2&3 were too small and i couldn't leave them. They have taken away the ride the kids liked best last year although on website it still says its there!!!
.
no 1 child got shoved and pushed over (people actually stepped over her rather than help her up:eek:) whilst waiting for a train that went around the park.and no. 2 son fell off a moving kids ride he was around 6ft up...
me trying desperatly to get to him way was blocked by several people standing on the exit/entrance gate to get a better look..... staff members just wandered over to my screaming child and stood looking at him whilst i vaulted over the fence to get to him...
Then still had to get no. 3 son off ride whilst holding a screaming boy no one helped or even held the gate open for me.
I even had to search out a first aid point as staff member had dissapered after i had put boys in buggy.
My poor chap has a huge lump on the back of his head my daughter has bruises on her legs where somone trod on her number 3 son still has a strop that they have taken away 'his' ride and i am just thankfull to be home again!!!
They can all go again when they are old enough just to be dropped off!!!!

God thats awful
It might be worth dropping them an email to mention how little the staff helped you and how you struggled to find the first aid point - when it is busy thats not good.
Hope the bumps and bruises soon heal.
Oh and definitely name and shame so the rest of us mums and dads are warned0 -
I'd also mention the fact your son fell off a ride while it was moving! That shouldn't even be possible! :eek:0

You definitely need to email the company about these issues. Try to get the name of their head person from the website and send it to them. Make sure you get all your points across, especially the fall from the ride. This should be considered a serious incident and most companies would have to take details and record the incident on paper. I would also consider asking the Health & Safety Executive for their advice (you could mention that in the email also, that should get them moving).
Good luck.0 -

I have emailed them - I was just in shock really that no one came to help me when he was obviously in distress after falling from the ride and the staff member just closed down that ride and wandered off? so i couldn't get her name. I thought i would at least have to fill out an accident form or somthing?
Thr form i filled out in the medic station has the time etc on it so hopefully they can track the people down0 -
What theme park was it? Name and shame them.0

Why would you post this and not tell everyone the name of the park in question?0

I feel sorry for your bad experience as Theme Parks are a tricky one. You don't say how old your children are, but if they are all or mostly under the age of 10, I would say it's not a good idea to go to any Theme park unless you have two adults. Nearly all rides need require there to be at least pairs of people, and with little ones it's not unsual for them not to be allow on rides without adults. The bigger ones, like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and similar are more geared towards teenagers, and adults, and I question their suitability for younger children, inspite the claims of them being suitable for families. That usually means there will be an "area" with rides for younger children, and most of the rides they will be too small.
Also, if you are grandparents, taking your children to these places and assume you can let them ride while you watch, think again, unless you are prepared to ride too, it will be a waste of time and money.
There are a few places which are good for younger children. Legoland and Gulivers World are two I have had experience of, as while you will still need to accompany smaller children, the rides are not quite so extreme. There are probably others like these.0
