I've not had trouble getting on ebay, but my sales in my shop are low this weekend(might be cos I've just noticed someone has undercut my main selling item big time:( ) but hey alls fair I suppose!DFW no.630!

I've been finding it intermittently slow to load eBay pages, and I've had a few unsold items today, with just a couple of sales so far, but one was a much better price than I expected, so that's cool.0

Well, hardly anything sold, but I relisted and loads of stuff has watchers already within an hour or so. Wish people would stop watching and start bidding!!0

I had a terrible day today. Lots and lots of watchers but only two things sold and for their maiden price.chocaholic110 wrote:Well, hardly anything sold, but I relisted and loads of stuff has watchers already within an hour or so. Wish people would stop watching and start bidding!!

What is going on?
10 days after a cheap listing day means good items are often lost in the pages of other items that people listed purely because it was cheap to do so. Add to that the problem that ebay doesn't seem to be able to cope with the volume of traffic that these cheap days generate.

Not a bad day for me yesterday.
10 days ago opened up around 3 dozen listings at 11pm at night as I had just got in and didn't want to miss the cheap day.
Then spent the next 3/4 days editting the listings so they actually were selling something and not just a v.brief text and no picture.
I've got alot of stock hanging around at the moment, but it is selling slowly but surely. Sold a mid price ranged item yesterday for a bit more than I thought I would, even had a couple of bidders pushing up the price a little bit so I was pleased.
Will probably do a car boot in the near future to clear out some stuff. Bought in a few things that are a little too bulky to keep posting ...0 -
I've been selling 20-30 items regularly each weekend - this weekend I sold 6. Funny how that happens sometimes.

Yup cheap listing days are a mixed blessing. Nice to be able to clear some old stock for less but my main stock does get lost amidst sooo many other listings. On balance, I would prefer eBay not to have them but this is very unlikely given that buyer numbers are down.0

Hmmm, I think that there are not the buyers out there at the moment - this is why eBay are giving their cheap listing days as they are not getting the FVF Fees in so are making people list as often as possible. Ebay have never given so many cheap days away and I came on to find out if anyone else was having the same problems.
I am glad it is not just me. We were selling 30-40 items a day and this has gone down to 2 if we are lucky and we are hoping it is not the demise of us with the Shop Listings not getting any exposure. We have Buy It Now with Best Offer as we wanted to clear some stock but the offers people are putting in are just plain insulting, we don't make a lot of money on our products anyway as we offer them at prices lower than other websites or Bravissimo do but people are offering £10 for a bra they can get in Bravissimo for £30 - we are cheap but not that flamin' cheap!. The best was £10 for a £60 bikini..... er...... NO! Do buyers not realise we have fees and (in my case) VAT to pay as well on the sale?
The kids have gone back to school and there was a lot of pay out this month for uniforms and school stuff, lunches, etc.. so I think this is just a bad month all round. Never mind, Xmas is coming so things should look up soon but we have been having a very bad time with eBay at the moment and would not be making anything if we did not put on 5p listing days!! There seem to be loads of problems though, lots of mails being returned or not being received the other end. Not sure what is going on there but my friend who also sells is not getting her emails and they are coming right back to me, as with a lot of NTL and hotmail addressed ones. Very strange!!0 -
I'm getting lots of bouncing mails as well, lots more than usual. I know I can't contact AOL users and I've always wondered whether AOL users know that much of their ebay related mail never reaches them, or maybe AOL users are just used to not getting ny correspondence from ebay sellers?
Recently though I'm getting bouncing on NTL and Hotmail, but more annoyingly mails are not getting through yet I'm not getting bounce mails either.
