HELP! Seller not paid full postage...

What should i do, i had a card this morning from royal mail saying i had to pay £1.76 to recieve my item as the seller obviously didnt pay enough. I dont know what this item is as im waiting for a few bits off ebay. Do i pay and collect and will the seller refund me?

  • If you look on the card there should be an option to pay online, email the seller and ask them to pay it, the package can then be collected.

For less than £2 I would pay it, then discuss with the seller once you have the package :)
  • I have had similar happen to me before; this was in the days when sellers could leave negatives too, and the seller basically said I was lying and that she had never heard of Royal Mail charging an admin fee of £1 for postage underpaid. She then left me a negative saying I was out to screw money out of her, yeah right!! LOL

Now that the feedback situation is different, I would hope the seller would be more helpful, so I think I would pay the postage for now and then speak to the seller once you've received the item.

I do too sometimes when I'm selling; but then when I'm a buyer and need to leave a neg, I'm glad that sellers can't!;)

Don't Ebay delete negative comments left by sellers though? I think if the buyer reports them then they're immediately removed.

Only because the buyer also doesn't understand the rules or else is happy that after a few days all people see is a positive.

If a buyer does object the rating is removed and you get a warning on your seller dashboard for abuse of the system.
