Think I've screwed up my final cashback mobile claim
Arghhh !!!
Phoned O2 and asked them when the end of my contract was. They told me I could switch now so I agreed to a new phone and new contract.
Trouble is I now find out it was 2 weeks before my minimum 18 month term. And, guess what, I've got to send in my 18th month bill for cashback claim and it now says I'm on a different tariff.
I guess I might not get my cashback because it says I need to stay on the same tariff for the full term?
Anyone else done anything similar? I'm wondering if the supplier still gets comission off O2 because I did stay with them (albeif different. new contract) and hence will pay me cashback ???

I think it depends on which retailer you are dealing with and whether you are on a cheaper or more expensive tariff. If upgraded and more expensive tariff then you may be okay. If not, and you have just done this, you may be within the cooling off period and be allowed to downgrade to your old tariff and then upgrade in two weeks?

Too late. Two weeks have gone.
Downgraded from £35 month to £25 month tariff. I guess O2 let me do this because I was in the last month of the 18?
Bit unfair because I did specifically ask them if my 18 months had finished and they said yes, you can change your contract.
I've sent the cashback company bill for July too which shows payment for tariff up to 8th August (end of 18 months). Even though they downgraded on 20th July and subsequently refunded part of this ;-)
Not sure how these companies do cashback? Do they wait to see if the supplier gives them the comission first before paying out.
Must admit I wouldnt be surprised if I dont get it :-(Cymru am Byth !!! :j:j:j0 -
