Sex discrimination in Nightclubs

I live in London and been invited to an event that's taking place in a London nightclub.
However I've noticed that the women are being offered totally free entry whilst the men have to pay £15 to enter.
is this against the law and if so who do you report it to?

Depends if they're classed as a Private Members' Club. If they are, they're not bound by sex discrimination laws regarding their customers (although they are regarding how they treat their employees). If they're not, then this is probably unlawful as they're deemed to be providing a service and hence are bound by discrimination laws. This club will probably get round the law by saying it's a one-off event and therefore falls under the private members' club rules."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

It's hardly discrimination, Way I see it is.
Fill the club with lots of girls, Males aren't gonna refuse to pay £15 entry to be in with a chance of getting some slag for night. O and pay a fortune for drinks.0 -

The club in question is a regular nightclub opened ot the public so it's not a private members club at all.
As for the comment above .. down in London you'll often find there's many more women then men in clubs anyway as the women go out with a friend or two whilst the men much more likely to turn up on their own.0 -

You could always wear a skirt and put some makeup on when you go.0 -
If it is any decent nightclub, then go find a promotion girl and get a free entry card or half price depending on the time you enter.
P.s I better sue my local nightclub since they let females in free on a friday nights.0 -
I fully expect that the nightclub will be aware of discrimination laws and will use the private members' club argument. You asked 'who do I report it to?' londoner. As far as I can tell, there's no one specifically that you can report this to. Instead, if you feel you've been discriminated against then you'd have to get yourself a solicitor and take the nightclub to court claiming that they'd breached your human rights. So if you're a lady, londoner, you ain't got a case!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

You'd have thought so, I agree. But I know of public places that get round this very law by doing 'one-offs'. Basically they say it's a private party or special event and hey presto, they're covered."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

It's a bloody disgrace, you have to pay for entry, you then have to pay for the drinks, then you have to pay for the lap dance and then you have to pay for the s..g.
Mind you still a darn site cheaper than being married....:rotfl::rotfl:
So what you moaning for OP?0
