I would like to warn others about a company called mumsnbumps and lilysplaypen. They also sell on ebay under lots of diffrent names.
I bought a push chair from them that is faulty and dangerously unsafe. I bought via ebay as they had a 14 day return period. The feedback was good. Low and behold as soon as I bought the feedback plumated. Lots of people either not getting what they payed for or getting fake or broken items.
I contacted them politely and asked to return under their 14 day policy as I did not feel safe using the item. They replied saying they could not refund as they were not going to trade on ebay any longer. They said because of ebay's interferance. I think they mean ebay respecting the law? Also they have not stopped trading they just use another ebay account.
I was supprised but auction items, rather than fixed price, is not covered by distance selling regulations. However the add did say 14 day trial period. This and the fact the item is faulty means I will get my money back. It just a pain and takes ages via ebay.

The companies terms and conditions are not legal. They are trying to remove customers rights. The distance selling regulations mean you can return items(few exceptions) that you buy without seeing.
My advice is don't use this company and if you have used them then don't let them rob you of your rights.
You will see from other posts I give fair accounts. I have dealt with companies who exceeed my expectations as well as companies like this who try to Rob me. The more people write their possitive and negative experiences the better?

How did you pay? if you paid by Paypal you should have filed an Not Described claim. Paypal would have then refunded you when you returned the pram tracked.0

Thanks for the response. Yes I used paypal. I was not sure how best to proceed so I opened a ebay dispute and paypal dispute at the same time. Paypal closed the dispute as I had an ebay one.
I need to wait 10 days to 'escalate' the claim with ebay. Up until this date we are supposed to 'comunicate'. Its a bit anoying having to wait 10 days for no reason. I asked for refund they said no, no more comunication needed:-).
I have no doubt I will get my money back in time. I know most of my rights. I get the impression they regularly rob customers of their leal rights. I think alot of people get fobbed off easily.0 -
your best bet would be to post down on the ebay forums where you can be much better advised0

Oh www.kiddisave.co.uk may be the same company also. They are using the same server and have a similar layout. They could be diffrent companies but I would be carefull. The Kiddisave returns policy is a bit hidden. It says you need to phone to tell them you want to return an item. By all means phone, but ALSO write an email. You need written proof of a wish to cancel a contract under the distance selling regualtions. They also state that they will pick up the item and charge you just over £30. You have the right to return an item using your own courier or royal mail and it will cost you alot less than £30.
My advice is read the Terms and Conditions before you buy. If they are too long or you don't agree don't buy. If you have already bought then find out your rights and don't be fobbed of. Just because a company says its there policy does not always mean you have to accept it.
Write your possitive and negative experiences here to let everyone know

You don't have to wait to escalate the claim you can escalate immediately.0 -
Good idea,I will post on the ebay forum. I am not really looking for advice. I have no doubt I will get my money back. ebay will refund. I have also contacted the company who make the product and sent photos. They told me not to use the product as it is unsafe. I am actually more annoyed that a company would sell something they know is unsafe and will be used by children.0

kiddiesave is not connected. They are based in Walsall and have a different registrant than your first two who are based in Yorkshire and owned by Michelle and Andrew Hoe-Richardson.
Please remove your last link as its unfair on a genuine company.0 -
No you have to wait 10 days to escalate. They said the button to escalate will appear only after 10 days. Do you know another way?0

Its hard to say if there is any direct link between kiddisave and the other companies but the websites have alot of similaraties of design and are on the same physical server. True they could simpley have used the same hosting company. BUT the kiddisave terms and conditions are not good and if you look at www.mumsnet.com you will see alot of annoyed customers.
So I am not saying there is any link between these companies. All I am saying is tread carefully.0 -

This alone is not enough to say they are owned by the same company. You may have had a bad experience with mumsnbumps but you cannot tarnish a company you have no connection to based on reviews on another site. Its really not fair on them.
Concentrate on the company you are in the transaction with.0
