Hi
I'm changing jobs and losing a company car so am looking for a replacement.
Have had a look at Car Giant and they seem to have good deals.
Has anyone had any experience of using them?
Any other good car supermarkets you have used and can recommend please?
Cheers

Cargiant seems ok, my dad has used them twice, prices are very good and plenty to choose from.
Never go to carland unless you like incredibly pushy salespeople. It's not that cheap either.
AvailableCar and Motorpoint both seem very good as well.
Hope that helps0 -
I bought from Car Giant. Fixed prices, no haggling and they charge a £61 admin fee that I've never understood. I agreed to collect the car a few days later and while preparing it they found a problem with the aircon that they fixed for me.
I would happily buy again...0 -
I've bought three cars from CarGiant over the years and always been happy. As stated above there is a big distinction between them and pushy "finance companies" like Carland.
I went to a recently-opened Carland once looking for a Jag/Lexus. The most "luxurious" car they had in was a Calibra so they spent ages trying to sell me that for £3k over bookCan I help?0 -
Most of the cars are ex-rep and have been bought at auctions in the area, so maybe try the car auctions to start with, get the car before they buy it and put their price on it0

The "deals" that you see on the net with regard to these car supermarkets are a bit like the deal you see in the travel agents window, they are very rarely there when you actually arrive.
Once they have you in the premises the salesmen are exceptionally good at what they do, selling a car to you. They are all about the hard sell and will really push and push to get you buying. Just dont be rash and keep your sensible head on.0 -
I think you have to go to these places with your eyes wide open. They may be competitive but customer service can be pared to the bone. Unlike other dealers they will not haggle, and you should never trade anything in there as you will get rock bottom price. Sell privately first, do your sums, and don't rule out main dealers.
Many cars they sell are low mileage pre-registered cars, on which they claim huge savings. BUT... you can often get the same savings on pre-reg and ex-demo cars at main dealers. You just need to shop around and play them off against each other. The end result may surprise you.0 -

Burbs clearly hasn't been to Car Giant!
We have bought two cars that we have seen on their website (we've bought four cars from them in all) and they don't push any car on you. They give you the keys and you go look, there is no haggling on the price.
What I would say is if you don't see what you want, then don't buy, they are getting new stock in all the time.
Where they do try the hard sell is on insurances, but if you are firm on not wanting them they give up quite quickly.
You'll also find that they seem to eat the second key (at least we've never got two keys for a car from them).Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -

rdwarr wrote:No, CarGiant is nothing like that at all. No hard sell (but very helpful when you approach the staff) and the website is updated daily. You're getting confused with Yes Car Credit.
I never said i was talking about Car Giant, i said Car Supermarkets and meant that in general.0 -
