How much have/will you spend today Sunday 17/9 & weekly challenge!

Good morning guys and gals

I can't believe I am up at this strange (for me) hour this Sunday! Mind was doing overtime during the night, felt like a little calculator to be honest so I gave up sleeping for the peace and quiteness of this forum and my OHs snoring in the background

So, today....I am going for a no spender! Visiting a friend this afternoon in her new house and we'll be buying some flowers but that will come out of the joint account which I don't count as my spend :) Got dinner and tea sorted and everything else we need so it's going to be a good DFW day :T

Now for the challenge. If you recall, I had £7.55 last Sunday to last me until Friday so I challenged you lot to join me in keeping it low. Well, it worked a treat for me :p I finished the week with £5.23 in my purse :j

I want to challenge you again this week and this time I am aiming for a £20 spend from today until Friday afternoon. I would have aimed for £10 but I have lunch with a friend and no idea where we are going yet  Come on then, what are you aiming for?

Have a great Sunday and hope it's a good DFW day all around!

Moozie

    Good morning Moozie,

I'll join you in a £20 spend this week. I've got a birthday present and card to buy but I'm sure some thoughtful shopping will bring that in under the £20 and I know I don't *need* anything this week. So.... bring it on :)

    Morning Moozie n' All :p

I will be spending just £3 today.

I work late and share a taxi home so that costs me 3 squideroonies.

I am going to Benidorm for a long weekend next week - Thursday to Sunday and I have given myself £150 to spend - and I am hoping to bring back change :)

  • Aiming for £1.34 today for 2 rolls of parcel tape on BOGOF in Partners (£1.49 bit with 10% student discount even though I'm not a student...) ready to tape up all our boxes for moving this week.

It's going to be a pricey week but it's a one-off. Going to visit a sick relative for a few days and then moving at the end of the week. Family are doing the move for us so the labour is free. We are hiring a van for £60.00.

Then we have to get professional cleaners in here as it is part of our contract with the landlord so that will cost a lot.

But from next weekend we will be landlord free! No more prying visits, no more 'you can't do that', no more of this shoddy house that's falling apart because the landlord refuses to spend money on maintenance....

  • Hi Moozie and other DFW's :)

For the weekly challenge:- I normally allow myself £30 a week spending money (includes going out/entertainment) but as this is a yukky 5 week month for me, I'm going to have to reduce that. I have £34 to last two weeks so I'm going to allow myself £17 per week.

So my weekly challenge is £17 till next Friday.

For today, I need bread so I should only spend between 50p - £1. (I'm struggling to find a cheap decent loaf - I usually buy Hovis but it's over a £1 locally. I tried Tesco's own and Aldi but wasn't impressed at all - I think I must be a bread snob :D )

Moozie - I just have to say how much I enjoy your posts. Your always so positive and bright and cheery. I look forward to all your threads and you also do a great job of supporting other DFW's. Your a little star :)
  • Morning all!

I'm going for another no spend day today - just staying in relaxing so nice n easy:D

I'll join you in the challenge of £20 for the week as it's my pay day on Friday and this is all I've got for spends!

    Good luck everyone:dance:

  • Morning Moozie and everyone

Hope you don't mind I thought I would join in today.
Been to Tesco's and spent 9.00, and then went to B&Q's
bought a shower screen for £29.99, so at last I can get
my shower fitted, not planning to spend anymore today.
    Take care
