I have just changed from virgin PAYG to 24 month contract- £10 month for 100 mins and 500 texts. My new bill says i have 80 mins left and 400 texts, however, as well as my £10 monthly charge, they have added £20.48 "other charges". This is broken down to read - calls to another network £13.15; standard call to another Virgin mobile 20p; standard calls £1.16;texts to other networks £4.56; internet 90p. The internet I can carry, as I was messing around & accidently logged on without connect to my WiFi, but I cant understand the other charges. I thought all calls up to 100 mins were included and all texts up to 500. So if I've still got 80 mins and 400 texts left, why have I been charged. I've been trying to contact Virgin all day & have just been kept hanging on & on. Thats happened 5 times today & they have the cheek to charge me 10p each time i call. Has anyone else got this tarrif & had problems with it.

  • Hi there

Have you kept your same number? The "charges" may be what you used before going on to the new tariff in the last month. What credit has carried over from your PAYG?
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.

Thanks Oscar. I got up and phoned Virgin at 6.30 today, and got straight through ( memo to self, always phone before 9am). They said it was a mistake and they've issued a new bill for £10. Result. Just shows though, on my PAYG tariff I never went over my limit & I got into the habit of not checking my E Bill. It was only because it is a new tariff that I checked. Now, I'll keep a tighter watch on it.

  • Don't forget many of the 08xx numbers are NOT included in Virgin minutes
