Cost to request previous bills?

I need to request full breakdowns of bills from July & August 2009 regarding my 3 phone. I need to prove I called a credit card company and the standard bills I have received do not provide full call breakdowns.

Question 1: Do they have to provide them or can they refuse the full breakdowns and just supply original bills without full details?

Question 2: I'm aware that this will probably cost. Does anyone know how much?

Question 3: Can I just write and ask for the 2 detailed bills? Do I need a template letter or something? I want to make sure I am clear in what I am requesting.

You can try to get the information through the Data Protection Act - max cost £10.

Try googling all you can on this first to see what information they are required to hold by law. Requesting is very simple and the Information Commissioner's site will help with what you should be able to request.

No need for complicated templates, a simple request under the relevant legislation asking for the cost (max £10) should suffice.

Well have basically sent a DPA 2008 request for the bills I require and stipulated I needed all call records ie times, numbers called, dates of calls. Not sure if they will hold stuff as it's just over 1 year old (well some of it is). I hope they don't make me wait 40 days I really want to deal with this sooner!
