Hi gemima,
I'm selling in Surrey and having exactly the same issues! 1 viewing in 1 month and we have also dropped our price. I think its the time of year, as my neighbour sold quickly about a month before we put our house up for sale. I think we just need to hang in there until September! At least you are not alone, I think this is happening to a lot of people.0 -
We're on Wiltshire / Hampshire / Dorset borders and it just seems more (4 bed family homes) are coming on the market and none of them are selling. One EA told us they could sell 3 bed semis really easily but there just weren't the buyers for anything bigger because of lack of job security etc. (no idea on the truth of this!).
We're going to leave our house on the market as it is now and just sit out whatever is happening. We've already lowered the guide price significantly and like you, can't see that lowering it any further will make any difference.0 -
House prices in the South East fall significantly

My friend in Cumbria has only had 3 viewers in 4 months. Sold mine in London after 6 months but took a cut compared with what I was offered 3 years ago - drat - but can't do anything about it now and have to let it go. I feel relieved I've sold it rather than if I was just about to put it on the market now.SouthCoast wrote: »The cash buyers are watching and waiting.
That will be me in a month but trouble is I can't find anywhere to live so am staying with friends, house sitting and probably renting if nothing turns up.0 -
Been on the market for just over two months and had approx 40 viewings. About 5 of those are supposed to still be interested. Some are the missing link in their chains but don't seem to be in a rush to make a decision. At least two, possibly three people have put their house on the market in anticipation of buying mine. However, as things are slow in general although I have interest the fact they don't have interest is preventing my sale.
Meanwhile, I've come to an agreement to rent the property I wish to buy provided I exchange which is a very risky business but a risk I'm prepared to take.0 -

Thanks but Wiltshire is more South West than South East and not as expensive anyway in comparison.
I seriously do believe if we dropped ours by another 20k it will not make a jot of difference. We are the ONLY 3 bed detached on the market within a 5 mile radius below £250k, still nothing. It doesn't help that we seem to have some pretty useless EA's that just do not return our phone calls and keep us updated. We seem to be constantly chasing. Given up now, will sit here and if nothing then take it off the market. We have enough equity to drop alot more but we then couldn't afford to buy another one because nobody else seems to be dropping (unless they are over £500k) which is well out of our price bracket!!!0
