Ive tried loads of times to clean this virus, Malwarebytes doesnt pick it up, nether does spybot - search and destroy, its been coming up the last week or so so the cleaning when reboot is obviouslys failing,

Cant seem to find any info on it, any help would be appriciated, it is called slenyritssd.exe if you cant read it

Thanks

    Ive updated the picture, thats all i know about it, i keep getting pop ups aswell, this screen comes up everytime i boot up the computer, im running another full scan and will post the results when its finished
    :beer:
  • i don't understand your response. What picture? What do the pop-ups say? Is there anything unusual running in your startups?

    suggest you download and run HijackThis, and post the log here. Someone will be along in due course who can suggest options.

    See links in the stickies at top of forum

    The virus you have is actually called Fakealert.Fakespy!env.a and you can read about here on Mcafee website. It's a very tricky one to remove. The virus itself gives you pop-up balloons telling you your PC is infected blah blah and tries to get you to download their anti-virus.

    Click HERE for details of the virus

    You've got the path there so copy it to a USB stick and then delete it manually. If it is in use that will fail. If you boot up in safe mode you may be able to delete it. If you use an Ubuntu Live CD you certainly will be able to.

    I assume you don't have any application named Uxtkmnumc that might be depending on it.....

    Of course it may be a false positive and is both completely innocuous and need by something on your machine in which case you have it backed up and can restore it.

    ====

    After reading the above post scrub my suggestion - there is probably no file called that anyway.

    Make sure ALL your anti-virus and spyware/adware/malware programs are up to date before scanning. What Anti-virus are you using ?
