Longer than the motor on your machine.... it would be ruined! :D

Yeh, you would probably need a cup of tea whilst you are waiting for it to vac.

Anyone know if those canisters on eBay will work with the seal a meal?

The ones on the fresherpack site say they are compatible with the foodsaver and seal a meal and the eBay ones say compatible with foodsaver so can I assume they also work with seal a meal?

I think that what happens is, the canister comes with a fixing that will fit that canister set. The other end is a standard hose fitting that fits on the machine and is universal. So if the canisters come with a hose then they should fit all machines as the machine fitting end is the same.

I could be wrong here but that is what i've understood from looking at the different types.

Lol @ all of you, i was still watching videos on you tube at 2am :rotfl:

I`m absolutely cream crackered now. Well all the packing for the hols is done and lots of things have been sealed into bags :D

The sandwiches for the trip are made and sealed and in the fridge and i can`t seem to find anything else to seal now so my machine will go off into the cupboard for a well earned rest :D

I had to re-do 2 of my jars this morning, i was in the kitchen and heard one pop in the cupboard so went to investigate and one of the others must have popped during the night. Alls well now - lets hope that they last until we get back.

See you all in a week

I use masking tape on mine, comes off staight away and doesn't leave any residue.

It's the thin cream coloured one that you can just rip with your hands, no need to use scissors (except to neaten up!).

I think you can get a couple of rolls in a pack from Poundland.

Wow, thank you, what a great idea! :T

Ok, I think I have solved it.

I bought some ziplock bags from the discount warhehouse just to use the 'zips'.

Anyway, I tried these small bags which were just big enough to seal 6 sausages in and they worked.

If you use a smaller bag and put the whole of the blue part of the zip in the bag, just have about a cm coming out of the top.

I think it must be because the air frorm the bottom is expelled quicker if you use a long length of blue strip.

    ;)
