Vacuum sealers for food - money-saving or not?

I am not sure how good the JML model is but take a look at this.
Tesco are selling it for £47.49 BUT, they have an offer on at the minute, buy 3 kitchen items and get one of them free!
If anyone is thinking of buying one and get their friends to buy one then that makes them £31.66 each if you get them delivered to your nearest store.
Plus, if you spend £100 you can use a code to get a further £10 off.
So, for instance if you order 3 x machines, one pack of vacuum rolls (which are on offer anyway at the minute) and use the code it comes to £93.48 and you will get 206 Clubcard points.
Code for food s206-6598
Code for bags 206-0620
It doesn't say though if this has a canister facility which may be worth checking with their customer services before you buy.0 -
I did some research on the JML one and sadly it doesn't do cannisters
That's why I've reserved the Seal-A-Meal with roll store and extra rolls from Argos! Read loads of reviews and seen videos of it on YouTube and they look mostly positive. I figure if it's rubbish then I can always take it back.
They dont actually have them in store so I've ordered for them to be delivered to my local store for me on Tuesday. I shall report back once I have it
Is it sad that I'm excited?0 -

I know how you feel, I just ordered the Andrew James one from Amazon, but cannot begin until it arrives next week. I don't have any idea if it is good or not but I hope so and am enthusiastically gathering all my jars I have saved. I will have to freecycle my old sealer as it does not do canisters, off to look for some cheap labels that don't need superman to get the sticky off the jars. Sunday morning has never been so exciting. I use masking tape on mine, comes off staight away and doesn't leave any residue.
It's the thin cream coloured one that you can just rip with your hands, no need to use scissors (except to neaten up!).
I think you can get a couple of rolls in a pack from Poundland.0
