Sorry if already posted but did anyone else get a letter from SKY saying their bills will increase by £1 per month?

I got the same email - I already pay the gits £48.50 a month for Sports & Movies. I am on the FREE 12 months HD at the moment but it wasn't long ago it was £45.
Do we get charged for their !!!! magazine still? - that's the 1st thing that can go if so.
Anyone know if there are any deals on Sports/Movies at the moment - might try the old cancel route?0 -
Mine has gone up by £4! I only have 1 mix and SS1, I feel a phone call coming on.0

You cannot get rid of the magazine unfortunately, - mine goes straight into the bin. It is a tax fiddle - by putting a "price" on it there is no VAT for them to pay on that part of your subscription.0 -
£2.50 increase. We have 5 mix packs + Movies, Sport, ESPN & HD. Currently on a 1/2 price deal my girlfriend got through work so hoping it will only be a £1.25 increase after discount. Would be nice to know which part(s) of the package the price increase relates to though. Still in our first 12 months with Sky and this will be the second price increase in that time. No doubt there will be another one in January when VAT goes up. Definitely going to be getting rid of some of the subscription once the half price offer comes to an end.0

Hi there
I also have received letter from sky stating increase of £4 per month for 2 mixes and SS1 but was notified of increase in September.
you have to keep haggling with them for better deals

My letter said a £4 increase for 5 mixes only. I went on their website FAQs for an explanation of where the price hike is but there is nothing to explain what item the price was added to. I can feel a call to sky coming on! And a cancellation of a package or two. (I unfortunately just signed up to HD for a year in June so cannot cancel) It's not a nice feeling that they can just demand more money from me. The website clearly states the price rise is only on tv and does not even affect HD so my charges for tv are changing from £22 to £26 that's an 18% price increase!0

Just been on the website to see where the price increase is coming from as not listed on the letter, yet the prices shown say effective from 1st September are the same as what I am paying now???0

Okay, I have just called Sky and my letter is apparently incorrect. My bill will go up by £1. I cancelled my SS1 subscription at the end of June and they said their system had not taken this into account when it generated the letter. So it looks like the basic entertainment package is increasing by £1 (from £18 to £19) and then you just continue to add £ for each extra entertainment pack you have. SS1 must be increasing by £3. I don't know what other costs are though, I'm sure it will be clarified in this post soon....it's a shame Sky didn't offer a breakdown in their letter though. I guess with would just prompt those out of contract to cut their packagedown.0
