They came back and said the fixings had perished so couldnt restick the glass but would get new fixings and sort it out.

Why is it the cleaning companies responsibility if the fixings have perished?

    How old is the cooker?

Surely it is your responsibility if they have perished?

If the cleaning company damaged them, them OK they are responsible, but perished!

  • Oh dear, another money worthers comes on for absolution and disappears when the trainee solictors and barrack room lawyers afford their opinion.

Sorry, but if you can afford a cleaner, you can afford the insurance.

  • Hi, many thanks for the few of you who offered encouraging and supportive responses, I really do appreciate it. I guess, I should know better than to ask a question of people who are still training - the obnoxiousness is just a cover for the lack of knowledge. Its a real shame that useful sites like this could disappear, as a direct results of amateurs who take pleasure in being nasty to those encountering misfortunes. As I am quite sure these people are the same in 'real life', it is fair to say, it is a good job the medical profession do not have the same obnoxious approach, for example, to people who are involved in serious accidents, or become acutely unwell.

In terms of the post, I gave all of the facts, including the prospect of the part being perished, as I was seeking the right way to approach the situation, If I was wanting an answer in my favour, I'd have twisted the facts! That said, I have now sought 'real' legal representation on the matter, and Trading Standards are also involved.
Again, for the supportive few, the company name is 'Ms Bucket', and they are a small cleaning business based in Peterborough. I do have my key back now, and as I say, proceedings are on their way

My offer still stands. If you want help escalating, let me know as advised in my previous posting.

Good luck and hope that you get a result.
