Issue with house cleaners

Options
Hi, I'm not sure what to do, but a couple of weeks ago, I hired a cleaning company to come in once a week. The first week was intended to be a deep clean, with weekly maintenance after that. After the first week, I returned home and found the glass front from the grill on my cooker to be not fitted back correctly (ie 'hanging' as oppose to being tightly fixed). I guessed the cleaners had just forgotten to put a screw back in and called them back. They came back and said the fixings had perished so couldnt restick the glass but would get new fixings and sort it out. The returnd the following week and cleaned the house as arranged, however, I then ended up in a chase loop for fixing the grill door, just getting answer machine messages, or being told the part was on order. After two weeks I put my foot down and demanded to know the date the part would be delivered. The guy turned very (very) agressive and told me to eff of and put the phone down. I called them back and demanded they return my front door key, which then resulted in me being called even more names (I cant repeat on here) and being accused of 'breaking the door myself' and was very aggressive.(even though it was fine in the beginning until it seemed, he realised I wasnt going to go away!). I'm really not sure where to go with this, but the upshot is, I either pay someone else to fix it, or I need to buy another cooker. This guy was actually quite frightening aswell which hasnt helped at all. Would appreciated any advice. Trading Standards werent much help to be honest
Thanks in advance

Perhaps they've had a holiday at one of Her Majestys establishments for 5 years and hence their house had lain empty and nedded a deep clean?

I thought I may encounter friendly people on here who would be willing to help me out. Obviously not - perhaps I should have posted 5 years ago, and I'd have found out a lot sooner. Seems this is a place for smart-asses who just want to take the p** out of people who need a bit of help!

Sense of Humour failure or what.

    You have 3 choices

    1. Fix it yourself
    2. fix it yourself and send the company the bill
    3. Try and get the company to pay upfront to fix it

Wow there are some unnecessarily harsh replies to what is a very reasonable question here. I know I'd be very annoyed if I was in the OP's position.

I agree that the company should be named and shamed on here though as they are clearly unprofessional.

Totally agree Spongbong. As I have said before in previous obnoxious threads on this forum, what do you expect from solicitors, accountants, people masquarading as accountants/solicitors, trainee accountacts/solicitors, people masquaraiding that they know the SOGA and consumer rights, etc that contribute on this forum ?

The OP has my sympathies. Do what I do and ignore them and do your own thing !

OP.....You need to escalate your complaint. If you are using a local company, you will need to do this yourself. If you are using a national company, I may be able to help you find the contact details of a senior person to complain to. If national, either send me a PM or post it on this thread.:)
