    Lots on here!

As far as the psychologist goes, Wol - if they're trying to turn you into a client, use the person-centred "trick" (Carl Rogers, who invented person centred, would turn in his grave to hear anything he did described as a trick, nevertheless it can be used against people, just as the psychologist is trying to use their knowledge against you). If you get the feeling they're doing it to you, just act like a mirror and put it back to them, e.g.:
    - you think I'm depressed? Interesting.
    - its a painful time of year for some people.
If it really gets too much and you have to drop that, then its more direct: so you have a chance at consulting with a business professional about business and what you're actually doing is trying to treat me like a client of yours - what does that say about getting your new venture off the ground?

I know probably none of that is relevant, Wol, but it really annoys me when people in vaguely the same line of business as me misuse their knowledge in this way (and get it wrong to boot, but lets not go there :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:).

Ended up with 5 things on, 4 of my sister's and one of mine, one didn't sell but I've just had a low offer for it - don't know if thats ebay-legal or not. They're all physically big items, tho, so its mostly quite a palaver getting shut of them now  I'm glad its only 5!

Sorry you missed the free listing weekend  its generally the 2nd w/end, but sometimes the first. Have your got the descriptions and the write-ups ready to go?

    Thanks for the piggie kisses!

Hello Wol, good to hear from you again - usual load of carp being shovelled your way, I see, but the new Wol can more than handle it, can't you? You are back in action and you mean business! And I'll be keeping all fingers, toes and other extraneous bits crossed for your mission to kick out Lady Nicotine -think of the money you'll save! And the extra years of life you will have to wreak retribution on all those who have played a part in upsetting the course of your life.....not that I am advocating vengeance, I mean more in the sense of making a success of things and thereby doing the one-fingered salute to your idiot ex, your idiot ex-builders, your idiot ex-clients etc etc. As they say (whoever "they" are), the best revenge is to have a good life. And I don't need to say enjoy your time with Auntie Smashed because we all know you will!

    Hi Tixy

    Hope you are OK Hun?

Unfortunately new client was the academic psychologist ...are we surprised Hun:rotfl::rotfl:...sigh...... que sera sera ;)

    One day................ ........ ...... .. . :rotfl::rotfl:

Alas not, we tend to be more surprised when we get clients who have some business sense (or at least common sense!), are willing to listen to our advice and are therefore happy to recognise the benefit we bring -preferably by appreciating that they are not our only client and we are not on call 24/7 just for them. And better still if they could manage not to quibble the fees!
I feel I may have strayed into fantasy client land now......

However aside from all the usual moans about work I am well thanks Wol. We have recently had a few new rescued hens from down your way - a large organic farm near Brighton (which I always think of as being near you). These are the first rescued ex-commercial hens we have had so we are hoping they settle in well with our rather more laid back rural poultry.

    Hi everyone

Lots of replies to make to you all but will do that over the next couple of days now that I feel my head is getting back together again.

Hmmm..its been a funny couple of days and I have felt really down this morning.. I have been trying to deal with the sudden implication that
    a) the insurance company can apparently pull out of covering me at any time now because of some idiotic deal the last Govt did in 2008. Apparently because I m now moved to significant flood risk, the insurance industry is no longer obliged to insure me at all under thier revised obligations
    b) if/when they pull out....according to my bank maager it means the mortgage company could foreclose as no buildings insurance = no mortgage :eek::eek:
    c) Therefore, Should i continue to pursue the insurance company with the Ombudsman regarding the claim. Im now petrified they could decide to cease my insurance in a fit of pique

Wol makes mental note to pay the renewal premium first thing tomorrow morning :D

Today I have replied to the idiotic water company and copied it to the Consumer Council for Water so they have a record of my complaint and can assist me. In view of the impertinent response, I have now upped my claim for compensation from £65 to £125 :D

I have also sent a reply to my MP commenting on the reply received from the ABI. It's taken 3 hours to research and write and I have provided him lots of information and also suggested the best way forwards for all the residents in my area who are flood blighted. (I'm actually hoping he may be sufficiently impressed to offer me a part time job as his researcher on this issue :))

I am also starting to consider how to take this issue to national level now as it would appear that according to Environment Agency figures I was looking at this morning, at least 600,000 properties in England and Wales are at significant risk of flooding and therefore are flood blighted like me. Thats' potentiallyan awful lot of mortgage foreclosures in 2013.....

Oh and I sold my first book on Amazon :j:j (but grr to them taking almost 50% in fees). I didn;t even see the notification until late last night so hope I don;t get a bad review as i was a day late despatching the item :o. Net income from the sale = £3.51........baby steps ;)

However I have also totted up the annnual totals for last year's cash generating intiatives (sealed pot, cashbacks andshare dividends) and it means I can pay off 4 figure (just) chunk off the mortgage offset drawdwn :j

Piggies are OK - not getting as much attention atm but at least none of them are on meds atm hwcih gives me a bit of a breather - but they do need to be booked in for a re-visit/update early next week. Willows bottom is healed nicely....but Bandits willy is still very stinky ....and Ginger still has a problem with his ear.

I have also discovered the delights of Tescos finest Cornish custard (mmmmm lush!) and am also re-acquanting my taste buds with Angel Delight ;)

Off to bed now as still feeling exhausted every day (more mentally than physically). Still not up to date on client work but finished a big bt of work yesterday and will hopefully have finished another one tomorrow. Then all I have to do is one more write up on omnday and I am completely up to date :j (not that the clients seem worried - none of them have chased me yet :rotfl:)

    Nite all

  • That is the pits where insurance is concerned Wol..how the hell do they think they can get away with it? Very immoral in my book.

Sorry to hear about bandits nether regions still having probs- err do you think it is linked to the other ear problem ;) eek.

    Sleep well. x
