OK - final post for tonight - but it's quite a significant one.

My first diary on MSE was started by my dear frind Piglet after bad boy Beechie knackered my hand back in 2008. Those that have followed all of the diaires know that there have been "complications" and I was faced with the option this year of even more surgery. I will unfortunately never recover my piano playing abilities...but to just be able to shake hands with someone without shooting through the ceiling would be a bonus (especially as I am in business and shaking hands is part of every day life)

So, finally I got an NHS referral to Chelmsford to try a pioneering new treatment that fires electric pulses down the nerve in an attempt to try and "tolerise" it and thus reduce the pain and hypersensitivty that exists all the time in my fingers/hand.
So far it;s looking like the treatment may have some benefit. I got my hand zapped two weeks ago and for at least four days afterwards it was a bit surreal....there was no pain or discomfort and I could actually put my hand in my jeans pocket or my handbag..:j...and pick up coins from my purse instead of fumbling around.:j.and I haven;t dropped a mug or plate..:j..and I could shake hands:j..but unfortunately after 4 days it was back...:(

But - it DID last 4 days which is the cut-off point. So while it's early days, I have passed the test and they think it's worth continuing with this treatment so in future I might be able to go 5 days , one week or even more..... so I am now booked in weekly for the next 4 weeks.

When you live with something day in day out - you kind of get used to it....but when it's gone (even if only briefly for a couple of days) ...it's truly liberating ..and you then realise how much it was impinging on your day to day activities....

Since the first treatment two weeks ago, I have been counting the hours untill the next treatment today...and to have an evening tonight with a fully functioning right hand (and be able to build a pigie cage) is really something to sing about :D

Oh my word - I'm back after a fantastic few days 'oop Norf' with Aunty Smashed.......:beer:

Michael Buble - SUCH a great all-round and entertaining show (ie not just a concert). Everything was so brilliant and professional and spot-on - the musicians, the lighting, the stage show, the sound, his singing,.......even though he clearly nearly collapsed on stage 3/4 of the way through the gig through illness/exhaustion (which was cause for concern to me and Smashed as we know/saw the signs.... although probably most people didn;t notice the sudden chalk white of his complexion _pale__pale__pale_ - nevertheless he carried on professional to the last and the last song he actually finished singing to the whole of Sheffield arena WITHOUT A MICROPHONE....and we (who were in the cheap seats at the top) heard every word :T:T

Truly one of the best shows I have ever seen.....comparable with Genesis Mama tour in 1984 and ELton John's Weybridge gig in 2008...

Costco was brilliant for washing liquid and a few other things :D:money::money:

And me, Beechie and Muffin got to visit Numpty today and partake in freshly picked dandelions and grass (well Beechie and Muffin did...I had a brew instead..... :rotfl:)

And loads of posts :A:A:A on my diary I have to catch up with - so will do that over next few days.......

Off to bed now - have been driving a minimum of 5 hours every day for last 3 days and am knackeroonied.......
