XP drivers are available from here. So no worries.

    Good to know, thanks.

Fix certainly working as now able to download and install critical updates, as before was unable to as it kept telling me that needed to register xp first.

Yes - disc was installed as gave me 30 days to register, but that has now been bypassed.

    Happy Days :j

Please use the genuine disc as supplied.
Be careful with Registry 'fixes' because Windows Updates can detect them. Which is exactly why you had the problem with the 'fixed' copy of Vista.
Save yourself the hassle of having to sift through your updates every time in order to avoid installing newer versions of WGA. Also if you need to install Microsoft software that needs validation....again unnecessary stress.

Do the job properly whilst there is nothing on the laptop. Otherwise you will have twice the job a few months down the line.

Well, even though we purchased the fujitsu 2nd hand, I've been on the email with fujitsu and managed to blag them sending me a vista disc, plus the associated restore discs free of charge which they have put in the post today.

Not sure if i will use these yet, as the xp i have installed runs a hell of a lot faster than vista did, but good to have it as back up.
