You are not talking about battered and scratched old piece of equipment.
It should be as new.
You still have a full 12 month warranty and can use the spare cash to up the RAM to 2GB and maybe get a six cell battery.

WIndows 7 starter is ok for netbooks, I have a N140 with it on and it is fine, I have also installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix along side W7.
