Not if they had to present other forms of acceptable evidence of ID as is required for most things today.

As for a 'dodgy' Blue Badge not having the correct photo, do you not know how easy it is to replace it with a photo of someone else?

A couple of quid down at the photo booth in your local ASDA will give you the photo. Then gently, with a craft knife, cut down the laminate at the edge of the old photo, pull it out and replace.

To be honest, I have yet to find anyone (other than a traffic warden) that asks to see the reverse side of the BB. They just accept it within the folder when shown.

Why would you know how to change the photo????
Thank goodness the new Blue Badges are different, and hopefully harder to alter, so people who really deserve them can park and get discounts without so many cheats.

To be honest I haven't seen the new badges. Those that were issued up the start of this year are very simple to alter.

    Why would i know?

Because part of my job with the government was to know how forms of ID could be altered.

Mind you the easiest way to get a cosher BB was to get someone to apply for a replacement to their genuine one telling the council that it had been stolen or lost. The original BB then goes onto the market for alteration, whilst the duplicate genuine one stays with the genuine claimant.

Its all very well and good you letting everyone know how clever you are knowing all these things but do you realise that you are also letting some people know how to go about forging things?

I would never have thought about claiming a lost BB in order to get a new one but you have knowingly put the idea into my head now.
Fortunately I am not about to do anything with that information but some most definitely will.

It has nothing to do with being clever.
That particular scam has been around for years. Many 100's do it every year. It is one of the better known ones.

Maybe, but they would also have to forge some other form of ID to back the letter up - Passport/Driving Licence/Council Tax Bill/Bank Statement etc.

Much easier to manipulate a BB than it is to alter a passport or create a CT bill/Bank statement.

no, all they'd need to do is forge a dla letter in their own name (totally simple & quick with a pc) so they wouldnt have to forge any id

What happens if you don't drive so have no BB? Does it mean you don't get the concession and all?
