I took a couple of vouchers in my local tesco today..they scanned okay but when the cashier saw I had not bought the said products..she took them off again..When I said that every other time I have done this it had been ok she told me to ask the manager who was nearby..He said no only if product is purchased..So I thinx the morale of this story is ,,if at first you don,t succeed try again{with another cashier next time}..but don,t make a fuss if they don,t do it..0

Of course I totally agree with funnyguy, if at first you don't succeed try again! However just thinking back she wouldn't even accept a Sainsbury's voucher when there is a huge sign accross the entrance to the store saying they accept Sainsbury's vouchers, lol!0

Went to Kidsgrove today ( where they took £7 of vouchers two weeks ago) and was promtly told by some bloke in a suit that I was copying coupons.
I said they were downloaded and he argued that it is the same as photo copying (??) and they had never ever taken those vouchers. Furthermore he wasnt taking any vouchers off me as he was sure everything I had was invalid.
I dont get embarassed easily but I am still annoyed by his attitude and rudeness.
I've complained to Ts head office who are ringing me back, hopefully with some points for inconvenience.
If they refuse coupons now though I might as well go back to internet shopping and since Ts prices are creeping up more and more, will try out Asda online instead. The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
Tesco Ashby-de-la-zouch today - checkout lady said they have a policy of accepting 3 vouchers per transaction! I actually bought all the products I was using vouchers for today as well! Funny really as the other week a young checkout guy there took loads of vouchers without batting an eyelid!0

Last week at Tesco Barnstaple, I handed over a 5 x £1 vouchers for nappies having not bought any, the young girl scanned all of them. The very same morning I did another load of shopping and went to another young girl (no young men on the checkouts that day!!), she in fact was on the very next till to the one I went to before, but she would only accept one voucher if I hadn't purchased the item.
It's all hit and miss as far as I can see. I only use Tesco for clubcard points or if they have a toiletries promotion on, it's all just strategic purchasing in there so it's a bonus if they accept the money-off vouchers.0 -
i have noticed ..that they have clamped right down on voucher use.....last week to fox them i only bought lurpak and i have vouchers which were for a free pack.. so i bought 5 and handed 5 vouchers over.. this totally confused the girl..as she kept on saying i can only take 10%.. but as i said i have bought the products....which then she excepted after asking a supervisor...
also i have noitced lately when i hand over money off coupons and they call over the supervisor.. neally every time now.. they allways ask me where i get my vouchers from ......and i just say that i join up to the product mailing club:D .....
but as welshy.... coupon-mad.. and other mse'rs... go with the flow.. and if they accept them its a bonus... each shopping trip will be diff... when it comes to voucher acceptance.....
good luck.... and dont get put off by snooty sa...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Today, 1st shop Asda self-scanner, as soon as I had scanned my 2nd voucher the SA was over like a flash, and voided my vouchers as they came to over 10% of the bill.
2nd shop Tescos - bought the toiletries and a bottle of wine. Cashier was happy to scan all my toiletry vouchers all 12 of them and then refused any of my money off vouchers.
3rd shop Tescos - toiletries again and cat food. Cashier commented that the toiletry vouchers were supposed to be 1 per transaction and not used in multiples. However, she said oh I'm bored go on I scan them all, so she did. When it came to money off vouchers she handed 2 back and said she couldn't scan them, then changed her mind and did !!
So you can see that even a regular coupon user like myself has occasions when to coin a Little Britain phrase "the computer says No ..............."
Welshy xI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

Not as impressive as these experts above (!) but I was happy today.
I'm not use to giving in coupons for things I hadn't purchased, but thought, well, they'll be sitting around forever otherwise!!
These are what I used money off coupons for today:
Daz (regular) £1.89 - reduced to 89p with Daz citrus blast voucher
Onken mousse (hope this is nice!) 44p BOGOF - reduced to 29 with 1/3 off voucher, so 29p for 2!
Cbeebies weekly £1.75 - The cashier scanned 3x50p BBC magazine coupons!! I was really surprised and said "I'm not sure these will work" so paid 25p!! And one very happy daughter (vouchers were in back to school packs)
Also received 50 points on Fruitpura, but forgot to give it in, so customer service added it on for me.
Discovery mexican sauce £1.48 - reduced to 0.98
Second shop is boring £16 of clothes, 600 points basically! LOL.
I said that I will occasionally use a voucher for something I hadn't bought, they are only between 15 and 40p at a time, and I'll always say something like "could you try these? or I'm not sure if these will work?" at least if something happens it'll look like you never knew! LOL
I've also got 2, 50 points wine vouchers to use up before they expire, I also forgot to use my organic points voucher on my organic bananas today, but aaah well, can't win 'em all!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
I mix up a few voucher with my points coupon and they normally scan fine..Hello :j  :j0

One of my Tesco's wont take any vouchers yet two of them will (five maximum). I usually pick the lovely Saturday/Sunday boys and chat to them about everything apart from the weather - they are that busy talking that they dont usually realise that I havnt bought the products.
Dont have many vouchers at the moment so will have to stop flirting with the boys!:rotfl:0
