How do I activate 1571 service with Talk Talk?

This should be a simple question, I hope. I used to have the 1571 service with what was then Tiscali, now Talk, Talk. I cancelled it but after 18 months I want to reactivate this service. I ticked the appropriate box in my Talk Talk account nearly a week ago. Every time I try the service I get an instruction to 'enter my mail box number and password'. What does this mean, I certainly have not got a password. Any help gratefully received. I don't really want to have to phone Talk, Tallk.

On behalf of your friends and family, "Please don't reactivate 1571, even if you find out how to do so."

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

That is an aspect of it I will think about, but I would still like to know how to do it!

You'll probably have to. It looks like a fault on their network. It will be a good opportunity to practise self-control.

If you can't do it via your online account then you have to brave the call centre.
