Offer accepted but house still on Right Move

My sister has been house hunting for some months and has finally found a lovely house and has made an offer and it has been accepted. She has sold her existing property subject to contract and is just waiting for mortgage to be approved for new property. (this should be a formality as she has a large deposit and a good income).
When the mortgage advisor came to do the forms on Friday(John Charcol as recommended on here) he said he would call the estate agents and ask them to take the property off the market. However when she looked on Right Move today the property is still advertised. She called the estate agent who said the buyer wanted it left on. What is the usual practice here? Can she insist it is taken off the market?

Has the survey been done yet? It may be because the vendor wants to make sure you're not a timewaster.0

You can't really make them do it, It would haveen been best to sort it when making an offer.

We are in the process of buying a house. We have had our offer accepted but it wil not be offically off the market until we've had the survey done (should be in the next couple of days). We were advised of this when our offer was accepted and if anything pushed us to try and get things moving quicker. I think that once we've had the survey done they know we've spent money so are not wasting time. As far as I know, other than someone that was booked in to view before we offered, no one else is viewing the property.0

An EA will sometimes leave properties on websites in order to continue a flow of potential buyers. A sold sign usually goes up at the property but anyone who calls to ask in respect of a place they have seen on the website (that isnt marked as sold in any way) will usually be told its sold STC etc. and they will be kept in mind if the current offer falls through.
As long as there isnt a sneaky EA involved (still advising that they can view the property etc) then there shouldnt be much to worry about. Once the exchange takes place make it a condition that its withdrawn from the internet and the sold board stays put if not taken down.0 -

The EA will not necessarilly be showing anyone else around, particularly if theirs and the vendor's gut feel is satisfied so it's nothing for her to worry about, but of course she should act swiftly get the boxes ticked and the property taken away from prying eyes.

If agent thinks buyer is serious, they won't try and rock the boat by doing further viewings. They just want to get paid. I keep properties up for a couple of days if a property is popular so that I have immediate contacts to ring should it fall through. This is also a good way to keep registering buyers. If property isn't popular, I just put it under offer immediately.
I'm always upfront and honest with everyone so that they know. I don't do further viewings on a property when an offer has been accepted subject to the buyer moving along at the agreed pace.I'm an estate agent. :j0 -

Agents will look silly if they keep putting properties under offer and then back for sale so normally leave it a couple days until sols have made contact.I'm an estate agent. :j0 -
