Marks and Spencer - Damage caused to property during delivery

  • I'd personally think yourself lucky.. If this had happened in the furniture department I work in

    a) You wouldn't have got a refund of sofa bed because you should've checked the size.
    b) You wouldn't get refund for damage to walls because we only deliver to inside unless requested, if requested to move things around, your responsibility.
    c) You definately would not have got a gift card.
    d) If the sofa bed had to come back to store you would have been charged £30 for redelivery.

    A large majority of furniture stores would agree with the above,

    I initially thought the OP's post was in praise of M&S CS for acting admirably - until I saw the bit about them not feeling this is enough.

    I would have been more than happy with getting a full refund, a payment to cover the highest quote - allowing you to keep any remaining money and a £30 gift voucher. That's exemplary CS!

    I'm not sure what more you expect them to do?

    I think that they have done what they can for you

    I think they have beeen fairer than most companioes would be. As you said,you have to take responsibility.
