Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper
He is still CO but he'll never see any email sent to him from a customer.

Better bet, is the exec office, they deal with high level issues.

Thanks, i did speak to the executive office and basically i could get more sense from a wet sponge.

i have obtained the CE email address so might give it a shot, dont see why i have to pay fro a contract phone aswell as being told to go buy a PAYG phone for the time being till apple resolve this 3G software issue despite orange telling me that they done a diagnostic test on my phone and its faulty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hi wiggles

If you haven't already sent your email, could you also mention that half the blinking country seems to be equally frustrated at the signal drop-out problems affecting orange customers.

Had my iPhone since April and constantly having to redial due to calls dropping out.

Numerous calls to customer service (should that be "no service"?) elicits the standard "we are doing upgrade work to our sites" response.

The promise of better service/coverage without some idea of timescale is not good enough.

The last advisor even suggested that as a rail lines runs about a half a mile away from my house, that passengers using their mobiles are gobbling up all the network capacity (do I look that stupid?).

I think that more of us need to complain in writing to Ofcom - will be interesting to hear how you get on with your email though.

    Regards
    Phil

    Hi Phil

More than happy to add your concerns to my complaint....however spoken with trading standards today as consumer direct have lodged a complaint about what i have been told by orange,as there restricting my statarory rights and like i was told by consumer direct...the supply of sales good act 1982 DOES stand and that Orange is responsible for repairing or exchanging the phone NOT apple

i also stumbled across this site today that might be of some help

Apple has stipulated that they handle the repairs and replacements, it was a condition of Orange getting the iPhone

That arrangement is between apple and orange not the consumer, the consumers contract is with who they purchased from, however when i spoke to apple yesterday they said orange can do an exchange and take the handset for repair......personally i dont either company could arrange a pee up in a brewery!!!!
  • Hope this is of help....

If you have bought a mobile phone, it must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described.
When a mobile phone doesn’t meet some or all of these conditions, follow the advice below:
    • If you have only had the phone a few weeks or haven’t had a reasonable opportunity to check it, you are probably entitled to a refund for a fault or poor description, or alternatively you may request a replacement.
    • If the fault is only minor and can easily be put right, it is reasonable to accept a repair. This won’t stop you claiming a replacement or refund if the repair turns out to be unsatisfactory.
    • If you have had the phone longer than a few weeks or have had a reasonable opportunity to check it, you are probably still entitled to a repair or replacement. A repair should be carried out within a reasonable period of time and without causing you significant inconvenience. Any repair should restore it to a satisfactory condition. If this does not happen, you are entitled to a replacement or compensation. This could be a sum of money or the cost of having somebody else repair the phone.
    • If the phone cannot be replaced or repaired economically, you are entitled to a refund. The trader may make a reduction from the price you paid to allow for the use you have had from the phone.
    • If you are out of pocket in any other way, you may be entitled to compensation over and above the price of the phone.
The trader must sort out your problem, not the manufacturer

Remember, if you are entitled to a refund, replacement, repair or compensation, it is the trader who must sort out your problem. The trader cannot tell you to go back to the manufacturer or to claim through a guarantee or warranty.
