we had to take a month off payments too for a big car repair and what they arranged was for us to pay it off over the next year on top of what we were already paying. This was hard but we managed it. I think they may be sympathetic as your car is probably vital for you to work and continue with payments in the future. Sometimes they may add the missed payment on at the end of your IVA so you pay an extra month I think.

why not take some professional advice before making a decision - CCCS or the CAB are very good at debt advice.
