No replies, except mine have made reference to only the purchaser having any rights, in deed they all refer to the OP appearing to have the rights as in "your" and "you" in these posts;-

    .

Mines was copied and pasted...........i wasnt referring to the OP at all. Just adding general information for everyone who was reading the thread.

Although point taken about the purchaser having the rights, but sometimes companies will deal with the person it was bought for.

its before the 28 standard returns policy which i thought applied to everything bought within the UK.
furthermore - no such thing exists. You have no returns policy for unwanted goods by law when you buy anything in person, it's up to the stores discretion.

Online you get a 7-day cooling off period.

Copied and pasted from where? Certainly not this thread, and nothing to suggest you where not replying to the OP, as demonstrated by the use of "you" and "your" in the post/reply, and "Just adding general information for everyone who was reading the thread. ", is wrong/misleading information in this instance.

What consumer i think if i remember rightly, google it and see.

As for the "demonstrated by the use" well that would be true, had i actually typed it myself. I was commenting on the DSR's cooling off period, not to the OP else i would have quoted him to show i was replying to him. If anything it would be more likely for my post to be replying to Meepster than the OP. Fair enough in hindsight maybe not everyone posts in the same manner and may have thought i was implying the OP was entitled to this. Sometimes yes, i do tend to forget that people may not be on the same "wavelength" as myself.

However, you can hardly argue the finer points of posts when you yourself have made a basic error in your post. Albeit maybe by mistake instead of just not knowing any better..........but a mistake none the less.

Yes we are, me included and never always right, but please enlighten me as to my "basic error".

I am not after an argument, but as I pointed out above for others not knowing, the rights are only for the purchaser, (not the recipient of a gift), as this was not coming across in the replies.

I'm not after an argument either. I've already admitted that it was my error due to forgetting not everyone knows exactly what i mean. As i said, we're only human. To err is human.

"where"? my "error" was a spelling mistake?!

I use spellchecker and personally don't give a stuff about such "protocol", where, were, what the hell, it is all the same to most, similar to the arguments that crop up re the apostrophe, gee does it really matter were it goes or even if it goes?

    Calm down everyone :p
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
