Please keep your chin up. people are only trying to help you and i am sure they dont mean it as an attack on you, lots of people are in the same situation as you , and you need to find a way out of this (and i think there is) and the more people who jump on board and help you the better;)losingbigtime wrote: »Hi,
Firstly I am not looking for a settlement figure in order to pay off the First PLus Loan as I have no means to do this, I just want one out of interest. I got the loan in 2006 so does this mean Rule 78 does not apply?
Partner does know about all my debts and the debt management plan, the debts are my fault and my responsibility. Partner was not pleased when he found out and said it was my last chance because i had put the house at risk and the fact that we cant now have anything, holidays, days out, dvds, takeaways, new clothes etc. Fair enough. He cant afford to contribute anything more than he already gives me (all the bills come out of my bank as it was my house to start with and everything was in my name - (he came to live with me and just gives me half of what it costs to live here - I added his name to the mortgage).
I am not trying to cling onto debts, why would I do this? I dont quite understand that comment.
I'm very confused now. Sorry folks, thanks for your responses
Right.... i pay £950 a month to fp ....wait for it .... 5 years later .... for a loan of £92000... i still owe them £90250. So you will get a shock i am afraid, but if they are still putting the "cancelled ppi on" (it depends if you cancelled this in the first 14 days) Then we can look to getting this mis sold. With help from the boards on here you will get through this:):)0 -

MMMMMMMMMMMM, god knows :rotfl::rotfl: no really:D it finishes in 15 years , but at least i have saved £23000 and that with interest would have been :eek::eek: the payments have reduced as well and that helps. When fp do loans they "lend to people not property" hence most are put into negative equity from the get go, and selling in this position is what you are not able to do,as fp wont let you. They will not settle for less than what you owe them and they are loath to put any of the loan on a unsecured basis, you have to have an offer on your property and instruct a solicitor, you then have the magna carta from fp that you have to take in to your solicitor to fill in with the price and that you are not buying another property, you have a buyer that thinks they have bought your house only to find they cant because fp says no. Take a look at this website firstpluscomplaints.co.uk and see what underhand tricks this company use (barclays) and the way they manipulate the interest rates, we have had 4 rate rises since the boe reduced theirs ! Also you cannot overpay, in the past i have sent cheques for extra off the loan, only to have these returned to me because "my account is up to date". Hind sight is a good thing and if i could turn the clock back i would. But this has happened and i have to carry on, i borrowed this money and i will pay it back. (and my hubby of course)
Someone on the fpc website sold their property and because fp were slow and kept refusing the amount that was offered they were reposessed. To say i hate barclays and carole vorderman ( to say she was a mathematician she did not look at the product she was selling for fp, all she saw was £ signs) with a vengeance is an understatement. But we live and learn and i feel sorry for those who have been reposessed as this came about partly because of the rate rises which made these loans unaffordable.0 -
Sorry to hear your story, the mind boggles by how much you will have repaid by then! Wishing you all the best for the future, I hope that you can find a way out before the 15 years are up.
