I am buying a house with my partner (not FTB) and we will have roughly 30-40% equity depending on the house price. Looking at mortgages for comparision and First Direct looks to top them all. Anyone got any experience?
Was looking at the 5 year Fixed at 4.19% (65 LTV) or 4.69% (75 LTV) for £99 booking fee and no arrangement fee. You can also overpay....
Seeming quite an attractive offer. BTW I have a FD current account already (I know this is a condition) as I was going to re-mortgage with them last year...but I sold instead.

HSBC have a 5 year fix for 3.99%, 60% LTV is the max....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

We bought our first house recently and got an offset mortgage with FD - no fees or valuation fee.
Good company but don't organise a valuation/survey through because it took them ages to act on the instruction for one and I had to do the ringing round to get the report.0
