    • My turn to take in goodies to work today so yesterday I made Twink's hob nobs for the first time. All I can say is OMG:eek:. They are the most wonderful biscuits ever and no matter how good anyone on these forums says they are, it isn't true - they are better:T:T:T. Best of all they are so cheap to make!

Shall give 'em a go! I made hazlenut tiffin yesterday that was on Something for the Weekend. Much cheaper than the snack machine!!

How do you sell books on Amazon ? Is it worth it?

Just strating on this and I am proud to say I am a newbi debt free wannabe.
I have a confession to make though... I am scared to look at my bank account! Does anyone else suffer from this stupid thing?!!

Heard two good ones yesterday to get some money in
Musicmagpie.com- just put your barcodes in and they give you a price for dvds, cds and games. At the least 30p, but some I have got £3 for. Worth doing it to get rid of some clutter! :T

Also, rag and phone man, on the internet - they will pick up clothes you want to get rid off, and pay you 50p a kilo. :j
Its a start but long way to go yet!!

hiya..i have sold books on Amazon, v easy, but tend to only sell ones that are popular not obscure or really old unless they are classic, recently sold DVDs and most recently board games. They take more fees than ebay but definately worth it as another avenue to de clutter and start chipping at debts.

I have been selling shoes on ebay..something is better than nothing, you might want to see if you have a 'Gumtree' in your city as good place to advertise aswell. Clothes, a good carboot is always useful and you would be suprised what people buy. Makeup tends to go quite well at carboots if your decluttering.

And my top tip, is you have any space no matter how small, grpw some salad leave, as expensive to buy but when a packet of seeds for £1 or so and you can have fresh 'cut and come again' almost daily think how much you can save! Free food - blackberry picking, apples, sloes etc...picking and storing/freezing/cooking your own is a bril way to save (as long as you dont do what i did and spend the saving on frivilous stuff you dont need!)

And I am very good at avoiding looking at my bank account!!

Welcome to this DFW site its great and it really makes me think about dosh and wonga a debts its all small steps but there are lots of nice people on here to help and support.

    :)

welcome pomgirl (guessing your from oz?)! stay with us its so much fun on this thread - everyone is so warm and welcoming & gets excited about everyone's news.

Way to go with the selling.

re the bank - go slow don't burn out too quick. Before you know it you'll be checking twice a day :rotfl:Once I started plucking up the courage to check it regularly I started to see loads of dodgy transactions (i.e. vodaphone taking more than double my monthly plan ) then phone the company in question complaining and getting that money back :D

I promise you will love them :D. Meant to say it is the easiest and quickest thing I've ever baked too so from beginning the recipe and having one with tea it will be about 20 minutes - well maybe 25 to 30 minutes if you don't want 3rd degree burns on your lips :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

hey kayho  erm it depends what you mean. I don't include food or petrol in my "pocket" money & allow myself £250 each month. For the last few months as I had some unexpected expense (can't actually remember what these were now :o) I cut this down to £100 pm month so I could keep up with debt repayments. I guess what Im saying is its relative to how much you earn, how much debt you have & how quickly you want to pay it off.

    Hope that helps!
