  • Leni, I think you are very talented. Your cakes look gorgeous. Perhaps a mail-order side to your business too for DFWs? I bet your g. aunt will love her cake and be very proud of you.

I'm only across in East Yorkshire so give us a PM if you want a price, I did a wedding cake in June, 3 tiers and charged half the price of the one she saw similar on a website!

I'm really nervous about taking it tomorrow because my other great aunt died at Easter and she was the family cake maker/decorato. And my nana asked me to do the cake for the other surviving great aunt. so it could get all abit immotional! None of my family have seen my cakes, and they certainly won't be expecting one like this :o :rotfl:

I saw the pic and read the first page but had to pop along and write a message - WOW, that's bloody brilliant!! I think you have the word 'novice' confused with 'talented'.

  • Leni - thats fab. I dabble and I would qualify as a novice - you're bloody brilliant!!! Hope today went well and that your cake was well received. Just out of interest - is the ABC course a national course?? This is something I'd love to do myself.... son has just asked for an crocodile standing on its head (a la The Enormous Crocodile) for his birthday in November....

Bad enough that I had to do a merry go round for my daughter last birthday!

If I hadn't read on, I would have sworn it had been shop bought.
Definite talent there - you should advertise in your local paper - there's nowt like a personalised birthday cake when you're a little kid.
