If you say that you didn't see all of those road markings/signs, then you may benefit from further driver training.

It is so obviously a 30 mph limit.

Well that is your opinion, my opinion is that I did not see the sign as it was covered with foliage and the sign was twisted around! the road marking were as I said had cars stopped on it, I was keeping an eye on what other cars were doing at the time., so I disagree with your assumptions!

A compliant system of street lighting may still cause problems. The signs alone are not a get out of goal card.

Is that a card brandished by the World Cup ref when denying Frank Lampard's effort?!

Oops, sorry, I'll get my coat. Couldn't resist, I know it was just a typo!:o

My apologies. I assumed Baili by inference. In fact I erred by presuming.
    My sincere regrets.

But the cars then moved and you then drove over the huge road markings on a red tarmac background and you say that you did not see them..

    I stand by my comments.

Obviously you don't drive then, because if a several vehicles are on top of the road markings its pretty difficult to see it, you you roll forward when vehicles turn right on this particular place , so I stand by what I say, you are making asumptions here, these signs are in a lousy place to be, putting them opposite a busy junction in a place where vehicles queue to turn right smacks of me of bad planning, if it was even 50 metres before this junction there would be no problem.

Still I have a week or so to go before I know if i've been booked or not.

There is no valid excuse for not seeing those huge road markings.

Bear that in mind when it happens to you then, and there are plenty of excuses for not seeing signs or road markings, that is why people successfully appeal against them!
