    Xmas Saver!
    edited 10 August 2010 at 12:37PM
Well, was up early to take OH to train station this morning. Just as well because Mondays tasks I have done this morning. Why? Because item no 3 on Modays extras says
Spend 15 minutes tackling a messy cupboard or drawer.

So I thought 15 mins clearing office area should make a dent, 5 hours and a bruised foot later .....:o.

    So this morning

    Sitting Room and Hallway
    Level One
[STRIKE]Open the windows and turn on some music!
    Wipe and water the plants
Declutter the chairs, floor and fireplace
    [/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Vacuum the floor now it is visible[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Dust the fireplace.. does the fire need a service before winter? or the chimney sweeping?.. sort it then!
    Wash smelly soft furnishings.
Clean any glass and mirrors and shiny things
    [/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Vacuum under any furniture you can.. please don't injure yourselves!
    Wipe sofas and dusty places
    [/STRIKE]
    HHC in the porch

    Extras
    1. Dust shelves and ledges and furry bits
    2. Binbag dance... grab a bag fill it and fling it!
    3. [STRIKE]Spend 15 minutes tackling a messy cupboard or drawer[/STRIKE].
    4. HHI
    and
HHE (Walking the dog - or should this be HHDW
Unloaded and loaded DW (the dishwasher not the dog!)
HHG (gardening - needed to repot blueberry shrubs and pick my first blueberry ..:j)

DD arrived home 10pm last night from almost 3 weeks camping. It was lovely to let her have a soak in a nice hot bath in a clean and tidy bathroom (thanks fly ladies) Now she has surfaced there will be a mountain of washing to sort. Will try and fit Tuesday tasks inbetween WM shifts, along with sorting through all the carp I moved out from office.

Hope the sun reaches you all at some point today, gorgeous here in S. Shropshire.

10 min break over, lunch to sort and flying to be done. See you all later.
  • hello everyone

it has taken me all morning to get on here - I have just sat and eaten an early lunch (body still on hospital times!!!) and managed to catch up.

I havent been lazy though - after carer went this morning Mr A arrived with a mountain of stuff - before I got started the DN arrived to dress my wound - cue the phone to ring at least 6 times as well!!!
I have spoken to DB for his birthday today
    Spoken to Auntie
    Spoken to friend C
    Spoken twice to carers office
    dealt with the mail
    put away all the shopping
unpacked some stuff from hospital bags
    checked all medications

just contemplating puttting a washing on - it was very wet earlier but seems to be clearing.

Mumto5 (((hugs)))hope you can put yesterday's unpleasantness behind you
castri09 and sammr85 nice to see you again

Magpie. it makes life sooooooo much easier if things have a 'home' and everyone gets the habit of putting things back there - well done to you:T
Summermoon congrats on the double glazing - I am sure you will notice a big difference come the winter
Hellyboo welcome to the madhouse and congratulations on your baby - I will be sending you a pm shortly but remember take it gradually - you will still be tired and your routine needs to include baby so dont try to do everything at once!!!

ooooooooh the sun has appeared - will go and put the WM on

    Afternoon all,

Had another long sleep-in this morning until 10, then watched TV for a bit, had breakfast and cuddles with Ebony (cat) as he's keeping in out of the rain. Have loaded all of the crockery etc into the DW so the sides in the kitchen are a bit clearer now.

Just watched an episode of how clean is your house about the Filthy Fulfords, and it has inspired me to have a deep clean of the kitchen (I'd decided on this room before I saw it was today's room on the list as the walls could really do with a washdown due to the grease on them). I'm still in pjs, and don't know whether to continue in them until the cleaning has been done, or to wash my hair etc and then get sweaty in my new clean clothes. Trouble is, if anyone rang the doorbell, I'd look a bit lazy if I was still in pjs. confused0024.gif Maybe the solution is to put on yesterday's dirty clothes, do the cleaning and then shower and change after. Think I'll do that.

Well I'm off to get changed then, and will be popping on for a HHC before I have my lunch - maybe whilst I'm in the kitchen cleaning, I may find something good to eat for my lunch too.

Hugs to all who need or want them. Welcome new flybabies. Pleased you're home toots, and welcome back gertrude and michelle.

Cleaned fridge last night as we had some Mr A's Whoopsies to put away. Cleaned cupboard under the sink - loads of stuff binned or used up.

Pouring with rain at the moment so don't think I'll be out for a lunchtime walk (just washed hair as well so it'll frizz out if I go out in the damp). Might catch up with some sewing later and prep for our Summertime Christmas-style Lunch on Saturday - the only way I can be sure I get the family together for a meal. I've got turkey, beef (and all the trimmings), Xmas pud, mince pies and Xmas cake. We'll put some decorations up and we do a secret santa pressie time.

Hugs to those who are feeling poorly or a bit down and way-to-go for those on a roll.

Still ironing - just stopped while the water warms up as I've just refilled it. Need to go put my towels on the line as well.

Me too. I'm going to keep going until the little ones demand food.

I've just taken a phone call for DD1 who has posted on FB that she is job hunting. She has an interview Thursday am so I'm really pleased for her.:)

Afternoon all, not caught up yet so I hope everyone's OK. Pouring with rain here, has been for hours. I've done a small load of washing just to keep up and that's spread round indoors. I could smell a nasty smell in the kitchen and I've decided it's my microfibre cloth which has been washed but obviously needs to dry out in the fresh air. I'll try again tomorrow.

    Dinner cooking.

I've S&Sd downstairs today after cleaning properly yesterday and I've tidied out one of the drawers under my bed. Photos in there. I've written names on the back of some older ones because nobody will know who they are when I'm dead and it's frustrating - I know because of some of the old ones I've got of my family. Not much flinging to do but things are more organised and I found DS's first baby photos that seemed to have disappeared but I knew they wouldn't have been thrown away.

Hope everyone's OK. Off to catch up in between cooking.

    Question

RE the greasy walls in my kitchen, what would people use to wash them down with? They are painted with a matt yellow paint.

    I have in:

    Stardrops,
    Washing up liquid
    Borax
    Soda crystals
    white vinegar
    liquid bio washing detergent

Sexymouse - whatever you choose do a test area frst? Most of the paint here dissolves if you try and wash it.

WM is on (again), S&S'd the cloakroom and now I am back to sorting through junk in the playroom and binning half of it. Hard to motivate myself though.
