Heres a few niggles ive had recently. I never have much of a reason to complain about anything. Having a wealth of experience in the customer service, travel and aviation industry and receiving sub standard service...i feel this is warranted.
Lowcost holidays
Just a warning for anyone that tries to ask a question to low cost holidays once your flights etc are booked.
After holding for at least 20mins each occasion you will find you get hung up on if you want any answers as the staff cant find a reasonable explanation to your query. Likewise if you ask their name, they hang up on you. Ask to speak to a supervisor, they hang up on you. Ask them to consult their colleague about the issue when they have said they dont know, they hang up on you. Email them, and they take well over a week to reply fobbing you off.
I understand people have had problems with this company on here before..although as a previously satisfied returning customer, i gave them the benefit of the doubt. Never again.
Gills travel
When they say they will ring you back in 10mins, you never get a call back...resulting in you calling time and time again at a premium rate number to be told the same thing. It took us 7 attempts to book a cruise over 4 days. Each time ive mentioned this they say 'Its not what we are about' but then do the same thing again.
Alpharooms
Ever managed to speak to someone on the 'existing bookings' line? Probably not. When you want to make a new booking they pick up the phone almost instantly, and the lady i spoke to said they are having lots of issues with people saying the same thing although as it was a different department she couldnt help me or knew who the guy was who sent me the letter (even though its only a small company). Emails never get replied to, not even with an FTAO to the guy who sent me the letter. ABTA are currently dealing with the dispute.

Nothing but praise for this company. Always available to help, alters bookings at no extra charge, answers queries without any fuss or messing about and are very professional.

4 years of entering competitions daily and not a thing won. What a fix.

I know - tell me about it. It was the first and only time I will ever use Low Cost Holidays. They just rip you off and the staff are soooo rude and unhelpful.
I booked a short stay in a nice London hotel, but when I got the confirmation email, it was for a completely different cheap and nasty hotel!! I tried to call, but they constantly put me on hold then would hang up. The supervisors were always busy so they could never put me through to one.
Even worse, they called me a liar saying that I was making it all up and they would never 'sell' the hotel in question for the price I paid. Then, to make matters even worse, I went back to their web page and the hotel was still being advertised for the price I paid even after being called a liar!!
Then, on top of all that, I said I wanted a refund as they are not supplying me with the hotel I booked, and they said I could cancel, but I would not be entitled to any refund!!Or, I could ammend my booking for another hotel, but would have to pay a £25 admin fee!! Their fault and I have to pay!!
I am going to give then another week, and if nothing is sorted I'm off to consumer direct about them.0 -
I have used Lowcostholidays once and found them to be very helpful when I had to phone them. Mind you that was a couple of years ago, perhaps they have got worse or the 'nice' lady has left!0
