you would have been better off starting the price with your reserve ;) i know a reserve puts me off of bidding :)
have you set up your buyer requirements?

edit: my ebay, preferences, buyer requirements:
Are registered in countries to which I don't post
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strikes in the last 30 days
Have a feedback score of 5 or lower and no credit card on file

it wont put them off completly but it does make it that little bit harder for them :)

  • If anyone is interested in blocking him from your auctions, this scammer's ID is gothamcity10 (I looked it up from the new auction link you provided pitdog - hope you don't mind!), seems he also was the high bidder on 3 other phones at the same time, I've e-mailed the sellers to warn them not to send anything to him

  • We all find scammers irritating, Nigerian or otherwise. However the OP's additional listing message would put me off bidding , even with the spelling corrected it wouldn't sound professional and I suspect if someone complains ebay might consider it grounds to pull the auction.

Actually, sorry to be a pedantic pest, but if it is slightly used it can't also be mint condition. To avoid argument i would remove the mint condition claim, maybe change it to 'lightly used 'like new', or something.

I also do tend to agree that ebay might pull the auction as it might just offend someone. I do make a note in my high end auctions along the lines of 'no overseas bidders, not even to your nephew, aunt or cat in Nigeria as I'm aware of the 41 scams', but I would leave it at that.

I'm used to grading sci fi items and to most dealers the definition of mint is 'in exactly the same condition as brand new, but not brand new' ie, a fully boxed, unused collectable item that has been in circulation for a while but has not been used. The moment something is used it can be deemed 'used but as good as new', but not mint.

Therefore a phone that is used is not to me 'mint'.

Where different people have a different idea of what a term means I would err on the side of caution, especially with phones.

mint condition, in In excellent condition, unblemished, perfect, as in This car is in mint condition. This expression alludes to the condition of a freshly minted coin. [c. 1900]

I agree with Soolin. One thing can be hardly used or in mint condition, but not both, although the difference can be tiny.
