If I hand in my notice will I get paid?

Excellent, that serves your purpose fine.
Remember you continue to accrue holiday during those weeks so make sure you get paid for that too!
But remember too, the employer can require you to take any leave entitlements you have left during your notice period (instead of using their paid gardening leave), so if they are alert to this (probable) you may well receive notice that you're required to take some days off as annual leave instead of gardening leave.

They may do, but if the are up (down!) to the standard of many large organisations HR departments they probably won't!
If I was the OP I would keep as quiet as possible and then (assuming they don't twig) write to them asking for the holiday pay.0 -
- I have heard of impersonation, and I've also heard of Google - the latter sends me an email anytime it finds my name (or my trading name) on the Internet, so if I was impersonated, I would address that, but I appreciate your comments nonetheless;

But if it is you doing the impersonation, you would just snigger I suppose.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Why not? Principally because the clique on MSE don't appear to approve of new members giving accurate or qualified advice if their authority on a thread is challenged.
Well you are acting a little "precious". I can't say I found many problems when I started posting on these forums and I just 'dived in'.
If you post advice that runs contrary to what most people believe to be correct, or if you imply that others are incorrect when they don't believe that to be the case then you might be asked to back up those claims with evidence - but I'm sure you'll agree that would be a perfectly reasonable request under the circumstances.
I for one would like to see more posts that were as comprehensive and well referenced as your reply to the OP's question, by the way.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

My reasons for not sticking around are simply because I can't be bothered putting any time or effort towards some of the people I found on here (some were very decent & those I would be happy to support in the future), not because of how I was personally received. In my line of work, I'm certainly thick skinned enough not to care, but as the clique appear to welcome new subscribers by accusing them of being three people; pulling them up on the rules for a simple oversight; and then seeking flaws in every post; I wouldn't want to contribute to the value or popularity of this forum for new users to expose themselves to that.
My advice will still be available if people care to shop around, but I won't support a forum that has people like I've encountered on here. The people that are seeking the advice are the ones that are "precious", and those that genuinely do feel "precious" (because of problems in their employment) don't warrant that type of reception, so I won't condone it by posting or otherwise supporting the attractions of this forum.RobertoMoir wrote: »If you post advice that runs contrary to what most people believe to be correct, or if you imply that others are incorrect when they don't believe that to be the case then you might be asked to back up those claims with evidence - but I'm sure you'll agree that would be a perfectly reasonable request under the circumstances.RobertoMoir wrote: »I for one would like to see more posts that were as comprehensive and well referenced as your reply to the OP's question, by the way.

I simply wouldn't lower myself to such standards, so I can't comment on what you suppose I would do; it has never, and would not, arise.
