well *£$%£" off (excuse my language)
Just phoned Play too and I won't be getting my Wii that I ordered on 19th September. It's an absolute disgrace and I'm fuming.Matched Lay Betting Profit £992

Just checked my woolies order as I've not heard anything from them. It still says "ready for despatch" which it has done for a few days now. After seeing what some of you guys have been saying, I thought I'd better check my credit card again. I checked a couple of days ago and the money hadn't actualy been taken, but it was £185 short in my available credit. Just checked and they haven't taken any money as yet and I now have my full credit available!
Not looking too good, but it does still say on my order that it is ready for despatch!
Fingers crossed and all that!

my amazon one is "dispatching soon" on priority next day.
my friend's, however, which was ordered about 2 minutes before mine, still says that it'll be shipped on the 11th.
He called them and asked and the little indian lady on the phone said "your account says it will be shipped on the 11th", he said "yes, I know, but shouldn't it be shipped for the 8th?" and she said "it says on your account it will be shipped on the 11th" and they went round that circle several times. It's amazing Nintendo don't think like normal people.
I.E. Release it around November 30th, people get them in time for christmas, they sell loads and are able to bring more out between nov 30th and say Dec15th to sell loads more.
Why make people worry if it's going to arrive or not , especially with a timescale of just 17 days between release and christmas day. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -

I know it's not nice ordering something and not getting it for ages, especially this close to Christmas.
How many are for presents ? or are you just treating yourself ?.
Mine is a christmas pressie for my son but he has absolutely no idea so If i don't get it for Christmas I can give him an IOU and explain what happened. He will be so chuffed that he will be getting one he won't mind waiting a bit longer.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Damn, I got the dreaded email:
"Dear Customer,
Nintendo have just informed us of stock shortages on this item and we regret that as a result we will be unable to supply your pre-ordered product at launch
As an Official distributor, Nintendo have guaranteed us more stock before Christmas and we will fulfil your order as soon as we can
If you no longer wish to keep your pre-order with Play.com please login to your account and remove the item from your Outstanding Orders
Please accept our apologies for any disappointment this may cause
Kind Regards

No, they think like business people: hype it up as much as possible and deliver fewer consoles than promised to retailers - this creates a shortage which increases the perceived desirability of the product, meaning more people will buy it in the long run as it's seen as a 'must have' item. Having a release date so close to Christmas just intensifies eveything - fewer people would care if it was May or July.
