OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! I wandered into Woolworths on release day and asked if they had any....once the lady had picked herself up off the floor from laughing, she casually asked if I wanted to leave my name and number just in case they got any more stock. Then, after reading the thread on this bloody Wii, realised that I didn't have a cat in hells chance of getting one! I have four kids and would of loved one- but wasn't going to queue outside overnight!! Woolworths rang me 90 minutes ago and said they had one and would I like it.....WOULD I LIKE IT??????????....... Sent Hubby down as fast a a smart car would go and I am now in proud possesson!!!! Would like to say a big Thankyou to everyone who has posted and given us all a chance at getting one...and to anyone who hasn't got one- DON'T give up...miracles do happen!! I rang Woolworths at 3pm today and they told me they weren't getting anymore til after Christmas- 90 minutes later they had three? Keep going guys and gals and good luck to all of you!! :xmassmile:0

does anyone know if the Wii controllers are region specidic? CosI was looking on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii and the controllers are cheaper in the states. So I was just wondering if it was worth buying one over there? And, this has probably been covered, but if I buy Wii play in the US will it work on my UK machine? Thanks.Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast0

I doubt they're region specific, but it's not really worth it once you add on the P&P and possibility of having to pay duty on it...0 -
I know that software is region specific, so wii play probably wouldn't work if imported. Also Wii play isn't out until next year in the US. However i do not know about the compatibility of the hardware between different regions0

Controllers bought from anywhere in the world should work with consoles from any region.
With Nintendo consoles, it is only the software which is region locked, so Wii Play wouldn't work.
But if controllers are really a lot cheaper in the states why not stock up :money:0 -

John Lewis has received 258 consoles at its distribution centre. I've no idea how many will be going to each store nor whether they will be available before Christmas. If they've got their heads screwed on they'll be on a same day turnaround but don't hold your breath.0
